Take a deep breath, then go up to her and say something relatively random then introduce yourself. I know I would find that really cute.

Say hello to her usually works in starting a conversation. Avoid words like convo, wit, da and you should be off to a better start

If she gets a look at you and is interested, you could say any old stupid thing and she would let it slide. If she is not on the market or doesn't like the way you look, any clever thing you say will make no difference. So, just start conversating in the usual way ("Hi"). Women don't care if a man has something clever to say, that is what we have girlfriends for.

Start with hi and go from there. Comment on the beach conditions (awesome day here today, huh?), water, weather, etc. Tell her you are going to get a Coke, ask her if she wants one (good opener). Ask her open ended questions so she will talk about herself (where are you from?, where do you go to school?, what yr? is this her favorite beach?, etc) She'll dig it.

First let her know that you're interest by smiling at her whenever she looks your way,and if she smiles back just over to her and tell her that she has a pretty smile and the convo will flow from there

kick sand on her and say she deserved it then apologize then kick more sand at her then apologize. Now if she's still talking to you then start pouring the hot coffee on her. Don't apologize but tell her she looks beautiful with coffee on her. Then again with the sand.
Works everytime.

find one laying in the sun & tell her she has a big red square in the middle on her back forming & u'd would rub it with sun screen lotion. Happen to me today
