Oh wow, I'd hate to be your neice with an aunt like you! You're totally setting her up to have an eating AND image disorder. Man, I hate superficial people. It's what's on the inside that counts, lady! Get a life.

You didn't mention the age of your niece. If she eats a balanced diet, gets regular excerise and is in general good health, she's fine no matter what.
If she eats crap sits on the computer or watching tv all day. not good.
Try not to make a big issue anyways you don't want to create an image problem or eating disorder.

It depends how old your neice is. If she is over 15, it is not overweight. If she is under 15, she may be 'at risk of becoming overweight', but it's just a case of eating well and taking plenty of exercise to prevent anymore weight gain. HTH.

That's not overweight for that height, but how old is she? That might be something she would want to watch if she is young. Because we tend to gain weight once we are no longer "tennagers", partially b/c we are less active. If you are concerned & want to help, try to help keep your niece active. Ask her to go bike riding or play basketball with you, etc.

My daughter is 5 ft. 7 and 135 pounds and she looks about right. Unless your niece lifts weights, she could probably lose 10 pounds or so.

She is just fine, as long as she stays active and eats some healthy foods, she is just right at her weight scale. Leave her alone, you'll be to blame for giving her a complex.
