An angel is a bodiless, immortal spirit, limited in knowledge and power. God created angels to worship Him. Not all God's angels acted angelically, however. Some angels, led by Satan, rebelled against a life of submission, and were cast out of Heaven. These bad angels were sent to Hell and are known as devils.

Not all angels are created equal. From top to bottom, the celestial hierarchy includes seraphim, cherubim, thrones; dominions, virtues, powers; principalities, archangels, and angels. Angels have different functions. Some do nothing but worship their Lord. Others are sent to deliver messages to creatures on earth. Some are sent as protectors of earthlings. Still others are sent to do battle with devils, who are viewed as initiators of evil temptations.

Even though angels are spirits and devoid of a physical nature, believers in angels have had no problem depicting and describing them. Angels, say their advocates, are invisible but can take the form of visible things. Angels are usually depicted with wings and looking like human adults or children. The wings are undoubtedly related to their work as messengers from God, who lives in the sky. The anthropomorphizing is understandable. Depiction enhances belief. But a bodiless creature cannot be depicted. A depiction of a creature of less than human stature would be undignified and unworthy of celestial creatures. Nevertheless, it is puzzling how a bodiless creature thinks and feels. To talk of a spirit as a non-bodily creature seems to be akin to talking of a "round square." Trying to imagine thinking or feeling occurring independently of a body is like trying to imagine the spherical shape of a ball occurring independently of the ball.

Since angels are invisible but capable of taking on visible forms, it is understandable that there have been many "sightings." Literally anything could be an angel and any experience could be an angel-experience. The existence of angels cannot be disproved. The down side of this tidy picture is that angels cannot be proved to exist, either. Everything that could be an angel could be something else. Every experience that could be due to an angel could be due to something else. Belief in angels, angel sightings and angel experiences is entirely a matter of faith.

A fairy is a mythical being of folklore and romance. Fairies are often depicted as diminutive winged humans with magical powers. The tooth fairy exchanges presents, usually coins, for teeth left out or under one's pillow at night. Fairy godmothers are protective beings, like guardian angels.

Fairies should not be confused with gnomes, which are also mythical diminutive humans but are deformed and live underground. Pixies, on the other hand, might be considered a type of fairy known for their cheerful nature and playful mischievousness.

If faries or angles exist, its your own opinion. Some people believe that they exist, but some don't. It depends on what type of religion the person has, and what type of person it is.

Many people are willing and even longing to believe in the existence of fairies. The Little People are so bound up with happy memories of childhood that they are recalled with delight as part of a less materialistic world. But, to most of us, they stand as a lost illusion. Not so with everyone, fortunately.

Since there are no irrefutable evidence to prove in the existence or non-existence of angels, knowledge about them are based upon legends, theological beliefs, philosophical interpretations, and phenomenological experiential reports.

As children, many of us became aware of or began to believe in angels. Many times children are aware of angels without parents or others imparting them with the knowledge of the possible existence of angels. Children find the presence of angels to be comforting and reassuring when facing childhood fears. This personal, satisfying belief in angels, tends to continue to guide and comfort the individual throughout her or his life and is believed to guide her or him from death into afterlife.

Many human encounters with angelic beings are accepted by the experiencer without any sense of its theological or philosophical meaning. Theological reasoning accepts the reality of angels, through faith, and provides the religious dogma to support this belief. Philosophical reasoning does not require the belief that angels exists, just the acceptance that it is possible for them to exist.

in order to separate the "facts" of angelology from legend and folklore of personal experiences and stories, the study of angels must be examined from a theological and a philosophical position. The interpretation of the existence of angels is based upon the difference in theological beliefs regarding the reality of the existence of angles and the philosophical interpretation of angels possibly being objects of thought. The separating the two interpretation allows for both individuals with or without religious-spiritual beliefs to accept the possibility of the reality of angels. Religion-spiritual interpretations of the existence of angels is based upon faith. The philosophical acceptance of angels is based on the possibility of their existence as incorporeal entities or "minds without bodies."

A theological belief in angels requires the believer to accept the possibility that there is higher order of existence than human life. However, philosophical theories can express beliefs that are not based upon a theological belief, according to philosopher Mortimer Adler, therefore providing possible explanations for angelic encounters that involve agnostics, atheists or individuals who do not believe in the existence of angels. Agnostics think that it is impossible to know whether there is a God and atheists believe that there is no God. For an agnostic or atheist, a belief in angels can be as difficult to accept as is a belief in God. In most western religions, which are based on prayer, angels act as messengers of God.

Angels come from heaven.
Fairies, some say are fallen angels. Angels who have been chucked out of heaven.
As for do they exist, I think angels do exist, so do fairies. if you ever meet a fairy, be sure not to enter into a deal with it as it will go ill with you if you do! also, if you ever find yourself in the dwelling place of fairies, do not speak a word or eat or drink anything. If you do, you will fall under their spell and will not be able to leave for several years. That is what folklore says about meeting with fairies. (the green kind found in scotland)
