Moving is very stressful. You are going into a new room, street, school. Everything will be different, you are worried that you will not like it as much etc. Moving is one of the top 5 most stressful things for children and adults. So hang in there you will be alright. Change is good when you get used to it.

Being stressed when you're moving is a completely normal response. We are generally creatures of habit and moving definitely shakes up our routines.
Moving is actually sometimes considered to be the equivalent of losing a loved one as far as stress is concerned, so don't worry your response is definitely not abnormal.
Take a walk in your new surroundings, get to know your neighbors or take a drive, make an adventure out of it.

Best of luck

Moving is very stressful -- whether it just across town or to a new area. Either way, you have to pack your entire life away into boxes and you have to change your routines. YES -- moving can be very stressful -- but try to think positively, and make new friends wherever you go.

YES! It is very stressful. It is best to start planning ahead of time to cancel and set up utilities (1 to 2 months) movers (1 to 2 months) postal office change of address (highly recommended at least a month in advance).
Most of us think we can't afford professional movers. I say when you weigh the cost of: Renting a truck, paying for gas, waiting for your friends to show up, packing, and then having to still lift stuff too, feeding and watering everybody, and breakage, the cost of moving yourself is higher.
Good luck with your move. Hope you'll enjoy your new digs. Try a lot of advance planning next time.

Yes moving is stressfull. Lots of things are going on in a persons life when you are moving. Nothing ever goes as planned and something always goes wrong so that is just something you have to accept and deal with. That is just the way moving is.

Yes, moving is stressful, especially if you're not entirely happy about where you're moving.

You should try to pinpoint exactly WHY you are stressed. Is it where you are going, why you are leaving, the process of packing, etc???

That falls in category of major life events that get ten on the stress scale, so when you get through this you'll be more able to handle, marriage or divorce, death of a love one, new job, or serious illness and your worried some favorite stuff will get lost or new neighbors won't be friendly.

In early 2004 we moved about 2700 miles from CA to East TN. I was so stressed I could feel my bodyache, and could not sleep. I ask my doctor for about 6 sleeping pills, to get me over that stressful time. That seem to help.
Good luck
