hi :p it depends how u take care or it. Is it human hair or synthetic usually I use synthetic b/c I think they last longer ;p the longest I had it was almost 5 months b/c I wash it well and condition it and wore a silk cap when I went 2 sleep. I also heard some girls who had micros keep it in almost 4 5 months 2 a year but in general just take care of the braids and they will last long :p PeACe

Three months is the perfect amount of time. I used to have braids all thorugh high school and college. I would use the braids foaming shampoo to wash it every couple of weeks and in between that I would use witchhazel (you will find this in the same aisle as rubbing alcohol) on cotton swap to clean my scalps, it prevented oil build up and dandroff.

From my journey i have had them for 4-5 months till the hot boom became particularly seen. be particular to shop them wrapped up at nighttime in a silk headscarf and wash and difficulty them weekly. some braid spray or some type of moisturizer will also help shop it truly is sheen.

It's time to take them down. I was told no longer than two months. That's why there is usually a lot hair breakage when the braids are remove due to matted hair.

ARE THEY NATURAL STARTING TO TWIST OR BECOME DREADLIKE??
If so then get'em out. Everyone is different it has alot to do with the hair type. 3 months is a little to long for me but i try to get the front redone every 4 weeks.
Test a braid if its kinky and knotted with lint or by products you need to take them down.
