I went blind for one year back in the year 2000 from taking a medication called Paxil prescribed by my doctor for depression, and had to have surgery to restore my eye sight. I recently found out they have had class action suits against the makers of paxil. I need to find one in Phoenix, AZ.

"Paxil Class Action Lawyer
Paxil Class Action Information

Paxil (paroxetine) is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, is a SSRI, or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Paxil increase the activity of serotonin, an important brain chemical known to be deficient in patients with Major Depressive Disorder, or MDD.

Patients using Paxil have complained of suffering from severe withdrawl sympotms and reactions, including addiction to Paxil. These complaints claim Paxil is addictive, and the makers of Paxil have deliberately suppressed the information about the severe withdrawal reactions of paroxetine. These complaints focus on the addiction to Paxil, including Paxil withdrawl symptoms and Paxil dependency.

Paxil Class Actions Lawsuits
In one instance, 35 Paxil patients in California filed a class action complaint in California Superior Court, LA County, against Glaxo Smithkline Corporation.

In another Paxil lawsuit, the family of a patient that had been using Paxil filed suit in Cheyenne, Wyoming, after the Paxil patient killed his wife, daughter, granddaughter and himself after taking Paxil for only two days. The plaintiff said Paxil was the primary cause of the murder-suicide. GSK lost the lawsuit, and appealed, but agreed to a settlement in the lawsuit, and placed a suicide warning on Paxil in Britain.

The New York State Attorney General's Office also filed a Paxil Lawsuit, charging GlaxoSmithKline with fraud for failure to disclose information that suggested Paxil causes suicidal thoughts in children and teens. Physicians wrote more than 2 million prescriptions for Paxil to treat children and adolescents in 2002. U.S. sales for that market brought the company $55 million in 2002, according to the lawsuit.
