Good for you.
You actually want to serve your country.
Thank you for helping to protect my freedoms.
Too bad some of your (so-called) friends have no idea what freedom, responsibility, obligation or duty mean.
I will keep you in my prayers...best of wishes to you.

I wouldn't join, but I'm a rather exceptional case and have a deep moral obligation not to harm other sentinent beings on this planet. Violence is never the solution, but we all must follow the path we think is right. And there's a reason recruiters hang out at High Schools, it's because once folks actually grow up and see the world isn't black and white good and evil they are much more hesitant to take their lives in the hands in such a way.

Apply for FASFA and go to school and live life. Military is not the answer. All my buddies who went to the Army all have dead end jobs where all the one like we who went to school and worked part-time jobs are do fairly well. Not to say Joining is bad and that all Amy people have no life. But you should have weighed you options before you join. They promise more then they actually give.

Now that you are in the army with all your army friends, were they right about it being stupid?
Does it matter?

If you didn't listen to your friends' warnings then why would you listen to a bunch of strangers here on Yahoo!, people who don't know anything about you or the army?

You answered it yourself: You always wanted to be in the Army. It doesn't matter what other people say. It's your life, if you're happy with it... you made the right decision.

I would've avoided the military. When I was 17, I was sort of wanted to go, to the CHP academy. But I gradually lost interest, after my parents said, no.

You have to live your life for yourself, not for others, unless you have children, then everything changes. The military can provide a lot of possiblities and benefits. Good luck!
