no...that's not it at all. i believe the catch 22 lies in this...to know how to interpret the bible, you need the aid of faith in your life (the holy spirit) there is no proof in the book for people that are skeptical. you first need faith, it always comes back to faith. it's like that saying goes..."faith is to believe what you do not see and the reward of faith is to see what you believe."

Even if the Bible is completely wrong about God, even if there is no God and religion is just a trap, the Bible is still a good book. And it can provide a good framework for the way we live our lives.
Besides, I think it's fairer to say that most religious people believe in God.
The Bible is just an instruction manual.
So if a book says be nice to each other, try not to think ugly and do ugly, and if you can, lend your fellow man a hand does the other stuff really matter? What's so bad about reading a book and trying to live by the principles that make the world a better, nicer place to be than a worse one???

I studied with the Witnesses for 2 years, so I found out slightly approximately them. the biggest difference is they do no longer have confidence in a trinity. God is the father, Jesus is God's first introduction (son) and the Holy Spirit is God's lively rigidity. Jehovah does not in my view direct the Witnesses. they have the Watch Tower Society in long island, the overseers for each district, and the bodies of elders at each and every congregation. They take the Bible actually, "bypass out and make disciples of everybody". you do no longer would desire to have confidence, they only would desire to offer you the prospect to hearken to and reject in case you like. I left as a results of fact i ended believing in a theist faith, yet they have been particularly some the nicest, kindest human beings i've got ever met.

I agree. This statement is like saying that the Betty Crocker Cookbook's recipe for chocolate cake HAS to be the best one, only because the description under the picture says so... Try other recipes (religions), and then decide which is the best. Don't take Betty's (Christians') word for it... A lot of the time, the actual result is very far off what is represented in the Book.

There is much evidence outside the Bible to confirm its authenticity. Archaeological evidence continues to reveal the historical truth of Scripture. There are many writings outside the Bible from that time period that confirm that what was written was historically accurate. At the time the New Testament letters were being distributed, there were people still alive who could have refuted what was written, but didn't, and couldn't.

I think the bible is like playing the game telephone. The story starts out as one thing but over time and telling it changes. I believe the bible is just a collection of stories. Stories that aim to help but in the end just a tale.

its a logical fallacy called circular reasoning. It is a fallacy very prevalent in Western religions and theologians. Check out St. Anselms proof of Gods existence. God exists because he said so in the Bible, since the Bible is the word of God it cannot be false. Therefore God Exists. Pretty ridiculous isnt it.

It is a catch 22. You are expected to believe that everything in the Bible is true. How do you know it's true? Becaause it says it's true, silly.
Me, I'd look for extra-Biblical evidence of its being true. Guess what: Reality differs from what the Biblke says.

No. Because of it's awesome order.
Read "The Last Trump". If you're not convinced that God saw the end from the beginning and wrote us a book to tell us about it, then I can't help you.

no, not only. God puts the truth in your heart. You hear it and know it.
But for "dude" yes, it does say that "every part of scripture is God-breathed" 2nd Timothy 3:16
