I was born and raised a Christian. It never gave me inner peace, just an almost continuous guilt trip about not being good enough or not living up to expectations.
When I started relying on logic and science, and gave up the crutch that is religion, I found inner peace. Now it all makes sense, and I am comfortable with who I am and my own moral compass.

There is no inner peace with out God. Man by nature is a none peaceful creature so how can a non peaceful creature have peace? That dosn't even make sence. The bible says with out Christ as the bridge man is the enemy of God.. God is peace so if Christ has not become the bridge in your life you will look for peace but you will NEVER FIND IT............. Jesus came to give us peace. Seek him first and all thing will be added to you.

The peace that does not depend upon your lot in life or circumstances or surroundings...the peace that passes understanding...is the peace that Jesus says you will have, if you choose to place your faith and trust and obedience in Him every second of every day.
Faith is a choice...simple as that. Sincere faith also accompanies repentance of sins and a profound gratitude for what Jesus has done for you. You are compelled by love to share the love of God with others through word and deed.

Through stilling your mind's thoughts. When thoughts are not arising every seconds, it will be like dust particles settling in water to reveal the clarity of its depth. When nothing moves in your mind, you can see your inner self.
Hinduism and Buddhism teaches this skill.

sit under a tree and meditate. you might not need god for yourself, but try to find some sort of higher power than yourself.
i DO know where you are coming from, but look at it from this point of view:
if you have a child, how would you react to 'YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!!!' or ' I HATE MYSELF' ..........that's almost enough to kill a parent because the child is a part of you. you made that child. that's what god is thinking. so call him/it what you want... just find something/someone higher than you.

Well God doesnt really mess with anyones head... we do a good enough job of messing up our own heads. I will tell you that in my opinion if you go to God and ask then nothing is impossible.

There is no inner peace without a personal relationship with God which comes by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Then, He, the Prince of Peace, will fill your heart with peace that you will not be able to explain.

inner peace is directly related to horse power.
I find the faster I go and the quicker I get there; the more at peace i am :)

Look into Buddhism. It teaches how to find inner tranquility and how to let go of all things.
