South Park has a very respectable moral centerline. The amoral characters are portrayed as such, and hypocracy is their favorite target of ridicule. South Park rocks!

Definitely NOT South Park. As an adult, I can enjoy the show for it's potty mouth humor and the jibes it takes at all subjects but a three year old is no way near old enough to know the difference between what is appropriate behavior in our society and the trashy attitudes of the South Park characters.
At three years old, reading straight from the Bible would bore any child. They make children's books with Bible stories and you can teach your child morality lessons yourself without subjecting them to something as horrifically un-PC as South Park. No t.v. show should be a substitute for learning the important life lessons. They should be coming from you.

First of all I think South Park is too old for a three old child, but I am not the kids parent so I have no buisiness saying so. I have a 13 yr old that watches it. This is where children need to be taught that Cartoons are fake, not real, just for entertainment that's all if you think your son can learn a moral lesson from South Park then who am I too say no afterall he is not my kid.... Although the cussing in that cartoon I hope your 3 year old does not use. They killed Kenny The Bastards.

Do you really think that's wise to allow your 3-year old son watch SOUTH PARK? I presume that you weren't being facetious, but it's hard to tell sometimes over the internet. Wouldn't you agree?
I would rather my kids (if I ever have any- gotta get a woman Preggo first, G) learn morals from The Holy Bible. But hey, that's just me. I'm pretty crazy and unorthodox!
I love South Park, but I don't always like the draconian blasphemy displayed by it sometimes. I suppose it's an okay show for grown ups, but it's not for kids! I am pretty tolerant of freedom of speech, etc. But I don't want my 3 year old little dude watching SOUTH PARK, and little Forest Animals pull out a Huge Pentagram and start performing Satanic rituals, etc. Oh yeah, and there are the blood orgies, the very explicit scenes of inter-bestial copulation, etc. Naw, man- I think I'll take a pass on that, mister man. No kid of mine is going to see that. If you really want your impressionable spawn to see little animals f*cking and worshiping the Devil, then what can I do to change it?
And how are you going to explain those simulacra to a 3 year old? Gee, ya think it may have a...oh Geez, I don't know...a psychological impact on his frail, tender mind?

I personally haven't learned from either, becuase my family isn't really religious, and all I watched was like Tom & Jerry when I was little. The ones who taught me my lessons were my parents, who taught me different life lessons to improve my life. They taught me that all life has feelings, so in that way I learned not to abuse animals. They taught me about the magic words, and how to hold a spoon, so now everyone compliments me on my manners. They taught me about respect and the golden rule, so now I respect others opinions. They taught me about good studying habits, and why its good to learn, so now I get straight A's. The point is that one should be taught by example, and not by someone you don't know, but by someone who is close to you. So I would say neither South Park or the Bible, but you. use the Bible though, but not just the stories. Try to relate them to real life experiences, and use your own experiences to relate as well.
I cannot believe that you believe South Park is a good example though. There is always death (You killed Kenny) and cussing (you fat bastard) and drugs (towelly). It is filled with negative examples, and although it does go back to the ''lesson of today'', I don't believe that a three year old would be mature enough to understand. If you really insist on South Park being the moral source, try to let your child understand the good parts and the bad parts of it, so that he is sure to understand the ''lesson of today'', and not ''You fat bastard''

You let your three-year-old watch Cartmen? Then you get what you deserve, I suppose.
Kids are supposed to learn morality from their parents. While I'd prefer the bible over South Park for everyone, I'm thinking there's probably a happy medium.
You might try turning off the TV every now and again...Or at least changing the channel to Sesame Street.

interesting question. life is tough, you need to learn to be tough but...i would say one really doesn't need to learn the sorts of things they teach on South Park until much later than 3. a 3 year old probably doesn't know how to properly use what they would see on such a show and i think it could potentially lead to trouble. at 3, parents are supposed to be there to protect their kids from the big bad world anyway. if you believe in the bible, teach that now. do you think it will get anymore interesting as he gets older? if you want him to have that foundation, now is the time.

In answering your question, do you want me to be honest and straightforward -- or would you rather I was diplomatic?
Do you want the truth -- or do you want to swap funny anecdotes that reveal more about you than it does about the Bible?
Can you handle the truth?
Clearly you are trying to be "clever" -- with your question.
As you mature, you will hopefully come to realize that being clever pales in comparison to being saved by the blood of Jesus -- who died on the cross for you and me....and your children. Being clever pales in comparison to walking at His side for eternity.
Please -- don't make light of that -- in an attempt to sound "clever".
The Bible is a book of stories with life lessons -- but it doesn't stop there. The Bible is the Word of God -- it is the Way; it is the Truth; it is the Light.
Why would you want to keep these things from your children?
My only answer to you has nothing to do with your question. You need to become the leader of your family and from what you have shown -- you are failing at that really critical aspect of your role as a father.
Raise your game and be a good parent.

i think this is a stupid question and you are one of those people that just want to upest religious people that are on this web page. get a grip on life! and if you letting your 3 year old watch South Park to learn about morality... i'm sure in about 8-10 years he will be in some juvenille hall detention center and then after that probably prison! you can't get anything that is of any worth morally or otherwise from south park or any similar type of tv program!
