My husband wants a digital camera. But im not sure which type of camera is good. He said he wants one that sleek and thin but with a big display screen on the back. Help! Anybody know of any good cameras?

Im looking at the Kodak 6 MP EasyShare V610 Dual Lens Digital Camera w/ 10x Optical Zoom. And im also thinking about the Sony Cyber-shot 8.1-Megapixel Digital Camera.

I have an Olympus and love it.
They make a great camera, and the detail of the pictures is unbelievable.

Memory depends on the Compact flash card (CF card) or the SD card etc which is used by the camera. You can always use a card with higher memory. These days 8 GB cards are slowly becoming the norm.
Most of the cameras are haveing LCD screens at the back, 2.5 inch is slowly becoming common.
If you want a good camera go for Canon. Canon manufactures every part from end to end including the all important sensor. The noise level of Canon cameras are very low even at high ISO. Colour reproduction more true to life. Kodak is lowsy.

The one I have is a Panasonic Lumix LZ-5. It isn't thin because of the built-in telephoto lens. ...but it takes really great pictures.
The thinnest ones I've seen with a large screen is either the Casio Exilim or Sony Cybershot...don't remember. One thing to keep in mind...these tiny, lightweight cameras are more sensitive to hand movements than a larger camera.
You might consider talking with someone at a camera shop (not Best Buy or Circuit City) to get an idea of what to look for. ..and also check reviews at cnet.com and the various camera magazines. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

I just bought a Casio Exilim and it's great! I bought an extra 1GB memory card and it will store over 400 high resolution pics. Another big plus is the battery life, I don't know exactly how long it lasts but I know I've never run out of battery life before I ran out of room for pics (which takes forever, since it's over 400!). Not to mention the fact that it has a great screen and it looks great too! I definitely recommend it.

Try the Canon Powershot series. Lovely cameras. Decent pricing. But first decide if you want a simple digicam or a digital SLR. If your husband is a photography freak, Im sure he'd love to get his hands on a Digi-SLR. Try the Canon S3-IS.
Best of luck.

In most cameras memoty can be increased at a later point. They are very inexpensive too. Higher optical zoom is better. Connectivity to computer should be very simple. Most cameras in the market are good. I use canon s500 very satisfied with it

Canon SD700 is exactly what you described. I have used it personally, and bought one for my father. A great camera.
