You might consider seeing a doctor that specializes in sleep medicine. Could be you are not "really" sleeping or not coming out of your different cycles correctly.
Do you wake up naturally and hear it beeping? Or is it off when you get up? (You might be turning it off in your sleep without being aware).
Just some thoughts - good luck.

how much sleep are you getting? It may be a sign of a sleep disorder, or simply that you are not getting enough zzz's. Talk with your doctor to rule out any problems.
Are you drinking alcohol or taking medications (or recreational drugs) that cause a depressive/sedative state? You may want to discontinue the use of those, if possible, on the nights before you have to wake up at a certain time.
Is there anyway that you can set your lights on a timer, so that they will switch on when you need to wake up? maybe the combination of bright lights and a loud alarm will help pull you from your slumber?

I have a hard time waking up to an alarm clock too. Probably because I skimp on sleep a lot. I have to use a few of them that make different sounds. Also, if you have a newer cell phone you can do all kinds of alarm tones...one is bound to work. But that guy might be right about seeing a doc...

I too have this problem but discovered I have a hearing problem. You are probably too young for this but a lot of good answers have been posted. Routine is the best way to get into healthy sleep patterns and remember - sleep is a vital part of health. Go to bed at same time and get up same time for a month. Your body will be it's own alarm clock

I used to do that, my Dad cured me.
He set the alarm while I was awake & made me listen to the sound of it. He said now that I know what the alarm sounds like, I'll wake up to it. It really worked!
That was 20 years ago :-)
Try it, hopefully this will work for you, otherwise you may need to see a doctor.

Maybe try setting it to LOUD music instead of a buzzer??
I have an inside dog who has to go out and do her "business" at the same time every morning, so I don't need an alarm.

Also, start asking yourself what you are doing during the day that may be affecting your sleep patterns. Routines definitely help me and my sleep. Not drinking caffeine after 1pm ensures that I fall asleep as soon as I go to bed. Your doctor may have more input.
