Any time something gets put in your mouth you sound different and you have to learn to talk right...5 years of wearing braces

I had an expander that went on the roof of my mouth and had a plastic block under my teeth so it was impossible to fully close my mouth. I drooled a lot, so I always sounded like I had peanut butter stuck to the roof of my mouth. I had a sort of lisp after I got used to it.

My daughter sounded a little different for a day or so...til she got used to it being in her mouth.

depends on which kind you get. if it's behind your teeth or on the roof of your mouth then yes you will sound like you have a lisp and taco in your mouth

No. My stepson had one for about a year and a half. Just be sure you don't lose the key.

nope, not at all.....i got mine taken out a few months ago....its not that bad....
