It seems they happened also in our times, because Israeli media report:

For quantrill: I do not know about this organisation. If I would believe everything 100 percent I will not ask. But your answer is not an answer here. Your link about conquests .. I may indicate you places where Catholic churches were built on pagan sanctuaries as well in Europe. Are we talking about Middle ages and about a state pretending to a state with western values?

No, it is not true. No mosque has ever been turned into a synagogue.

I do know of several synagogues that were demolished by arabs, though (e.g. all of the sysnagogues save one (!) by the Jordanians in the Old City of Jerusalem and the one by grave of Joseph in Shechem [Nablus]).
Also, your irrelevant point about Jewish extremists going after mosques is pointless. This NEVER happened. Either the authorities were just worried about it, or they stopped it somehow before it happened, or they were just trying to "spook" people.

According to reality the muslims built one of their mosque on the holy place where the Holy Temple should be! Also according to reality terrorists keep blowing themselves up all around Israel killing people, including themselves and injuring others!
Not all muslims are terrorists. But how would you feel if you lived in a country where some people are walking bombs?

Put the shoe on the other foot, please. Israel returned Gaza to the Palestinians and one of the first things they did was destroy the Synagogues there. I have pictures of it. Neither one is any better than the other.
