Should I follow what Paul said, or what Jesus said? They do not reconcile.

You are absolutely correct....They do not reconcile and this hateful conglomeration that we call modern Christianity walks after Paul, not Christ....

It doesn't even make sense....If we had the King of King's with us and have his words recorded, then why would we read another's writings?????

If you find no reconciliation between the words of Jesus and the words of Paul, then you are not reading in the Spirit. It is all God's word and there are no contradictions in the Bible---I DO NOT CARE WHAT THE ATHEISTS SAY!!!! The Bible is not a how-to-do-it book---it is God's revealed word to humankind. In order to follow in the footsteps of Christ the word must be eaten daily and digested---it must become a part of you. This is a time consuming process that takes years and an incredible amount of devotion and meditation. It requires memorizing vast amounts of scripture in order to get the meaning of the verses. It requires cooperating with the Holy Spirit. Jesus loves you.

When you are trying to refute what the Bible says, you need to provide Scripture chapters and verses.
The teachings of the Apostles were what Jesus taught them during the years He spent with them. So they were actually following Christ as we are also to do.
So you see there really is no contradiction except in your own mind.

I've got an idea -- follow your OWN heart and feelings. Live your life the way YOU think it should be lived, rather than rely on fairy tales from a couple thousand years ago as a guide to modern life. I think you'll be a lot happier, less hypocritical, and smarter as well :)

Oh, and you're right -- they don't reconcile. Go figure...

Follow Jesus, he is God, therefore if you want to be perfect through action, walk and talk the teaching.
But none can be perfect, yet you can try.
