Truth and the aftermath. If you lie and get caught, you will never be entirely trusted again. That's the worst thing there is.

It's always a better idea to tell the truth, for the following reasons:
- it's morally superior to telling a lie
- it's easier to remember the truth than a lie
- you'll feel better about yourself if you tell the truth
- regardless of the aftermath, it's usually going to be better having the person know the truth, than having them find out eventually and being far more angry than they would have been initially
and finally
People usually find out anyways, sooner or later.

It's so much better to tell the truth...that way you don't have to remember which lies you told!! If you get caught in a lie, then your word is no good. I'd rather face the music with my integrity in tact. If the person can't handle the truth, there's not much you can do, but if they know your honest no matter what, it'll make it easier in the long run. I hope I answered that in a way that was helpful to you!

If you have 'lie after lie' arguments you have lied too often. You no longer have integrity or honor. This was one of those relationships in which you grew. Either renounce the lies forever, which will be hard for you to do since it is a basic change in behavior, or find new people to whom to lie. You will still see a liar in the mirror. But you have no integrity or honor. So the sight will not bother you any more then than it does now.

To tell the truth and deal with the consequences is better than to lie and get caught in it, I think it's twice as bad that way, because not only did you screw up, but you tried to hide it. At least in telling the truth you show integrity and honor by being honest you're man enough or woman enough to face teh consequences, it shows remorse and maturity.
Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be ok, just fess up the first time to get it over with and look at it as a learning experience.
Good luck.

The truth is much easier. You may have to deal with the aftermath, but the truth is much easier to remember than all the lies you'll have to invent to cover up all the other lies. Lying gets entirely TOO DEEP!

I believe it is easyer to deal with the aftermath of the truth, lies just keep going and going until there is no truth left and people are hurt or what ever and the damage can't be fixed.

It's probably easier for some to make up something and just keep lying but for me personally, I would rather tell the truth and suffer the consequences afterwards. At least I still am trustworthy even if I did screw up.

Easier to tell the truth. You just have to deal with it once, rather than compounding your problems each time you lie. Plus, it's always better to stand up and admit your mistakes.
