On the first side it has a shield with a cross inside. The ends of the cross turn back(double hooks). Also the shield has a diagonal design in black and white behind the cross. The thread is pink, but it could have been discolored as it is very old.

Yes it has writing on it. It says CAVS. BEAT. ET. CANON. ORD. PRAED. around the cross and at the bottom it says POSTVLATOR. It has pink thread woven design around it.

It doesnt have anyone on it. On the reverse side it has a cross with fleur de lis endings on it with a wreath or leaves around the center. It just has the word relic at the bottom. One more thing, it has a hole in the center of the reverse side where I can see a cloth through it, thanks

would be more helpful to see it, would mind sending it to me via my email on my profile?

I am taking this to work and will run it past the priest.

As best I can find, it is a seal intended for the Congregation for the Beatification of Saints - the postulator is the one who is turning the cause over to the congregation.

Do you have any other information? where did you get it? anything will help.

Thanks

Sounds like a scapular, but I've never seen one like you describe. What color is it? On the other side does it have a likeness of the Virgin Mary or Jesus?

You can try either taking it by the local parish and asking the priest if can identify it, or use an Internet search engine. If it is brown in color, for example, enter the words "brown scapular."

That's an orthodox cross. So if it is a saint's medallion, it's not one of the regular catholic ones.
Good luck finding this one, if you think the catholics have a lot of saints, just wait until you wade through the hundreds of orthodox ones...
