Yes, it's a mating call and birds will try to have sex with things in just that way. I've got a lovebird that prefers an old blanket. My wife and I just leave it in a corner for him and refer to it as his humpy.

I have a male cockatiel who tries to have sex with my hand. And yes, this sounds like what my birds does when he makes his attempts.

i have a cockatiel. he does sumthin like that but not the same thing. i don't think its the mating call.

Your cockatiel has probably fallen in love with your other bird. I once had one that was in love with the family dog and was constantly bothering it. It would also scream like mad when the dog left the room.

Sounds like mating call to me. A birds reproductive stimulation area is under their wings. When a bird is in the mood, he may lift his wing and rub on something...i know yuck....my bird either has gotten out of the phase or was just going through bird puberty...how old is your bird....And yes bringing another bird into the house can make him do all kinds of things.....wanting to mate may be just one of them.
