Do you believe the ''conflict'' should have ended the way it did? Why?
Was there anything either side, or any other country, should have done? Why?
Do you believe that the UN cease-fire will be effective? Why?

Wow, some people talking about wishing good luck to Hezbollah, and other people tlaking about pummeling Lebanon to dust, I think we are seeing both extremes.

There is NOTHING worse than losing a war & Israel is perceived to be the loser here. As a result, its other enemies including Hamas, & the Al Fatah Martyrs Brigade & who knows who else in the Palestinian territories, having seen what Hezbollah can do, will now conclude they can do the same. I predict we will see an almost immediate ramp up in violent attacks in and against Israel. By caving in the Israeli government has condemned itself to a generation of increased violence. Having screwed up their initial response to Hezbollah by using air power instead of invading straight away, they committed themselves to certain course of action. They should have continued until they either wrecked Hezbollah's capacity or pounded Southern Lebanon into dust, and occupied it like they did the West bank, no matter how many casualties they took & no matter who they made angry (everyone in the neighborhood hates them anyway). As it is we have seen only round one. More Intifada & bigger wars are coming.

I am no fan of Hezbollah, but I do believe that Israel should be forced to pay $100,000 to each family that lost a family member and $75,000 plus the cost of repairs/replacement for all damage done. Their aid from the US should be suspended until every dime is paid.
Leveling Lebanon on the excuse of going after Hezbollah is ridiculous. Hezbollah was not at the Beirut airport or in the Beirut suburbs, nor in the beach areas north of the city. Wanton destruction should not be left unaddressed.

The conflict did not end. This ground has been fought over for eight thousand years--enmity at its strongest. All interested parties should get together and talk it out. Anyone who thinks there is nothing to talk about should be immediately executed for cowardice and lying if they then make a speech about what is going on, or try to tell some group that it should fight for its "rights." That's what they need to reach an agreement about now. Cease fires only work when the commanders in the field agree to them, or when the writers of the movies want them to work.

No cease fire in the Middle east has ever worked and there have been 100's.
Historicaly they are only a time for one or both sides to rearm, move troops around and get dug in better.
Isreal is not moving out yet, and the terrorist have already said they are not going to disarm, and they are not moving out of the border area.
The UN is already backing down saying now that Lebanon military will have to disarm the terrorist ( which they have not done in years with other UN orders to disarm)
So all that will happen, now there will be UN targets to get killed by accident when the new fighting starts.

I think Israel is getting a bum rap......for those that say give Palestinians half of their country.......remember that Palestinians didn't even give themselves that name until 1967. These were Arab refugees who left Israel without a shot being fired by anyone. 1967 was two decades after modern Israeli statehood.
I pay for peace, but it won't happen, I don't think.
I am a Christian but not proud to be an American. Israel admits its' mistakes made in Lebanon where innocent people have been treated unfairly. Can you even imagine George Bush or anyone around him who would be honest enough to tell the public about innocent people killed in Iraq by mistake??????????? Dream on....my fellow Americans.

Perhaps if the arabs would stop attacking Israel (as they have been doing for more than 50 years), there would be no more bloodshed. They only land Israel has taken, was following a victorious war.. That land was taken only to protect their borders. To top that off, every attempt to create peace cotinues to be turned down by those same people complaining about Israel.
Reality continues to get twisted around for the benefit of those attempting to elilminate Israel.

Israel has never listened to the UN -- it will continue to kidnap Arab civilians, throw them in jail, and bomb Arab countries with impunity. Israel has gotten away with murder, like it always does. It has committed the blatant war crime of destroying the public infrastructure, but the US blocked action being taken in the Security Council. It's a sad day for international law when Israel flaunts it like it's nothing. Israel has not withdrawn from the West Bank for 30 years, even after the 1967 UN resolution telling it to leave -- it ought to be punished, but it's not. Instead, it's killing more and more Arabs. The conflict should have been ended by Israel complying with international law, like that's ever going to happen. I completely support Hezbollah's actions, and wish them luck in the future.

Jesus Christ and Israel will win the conflict. they might lose a conflict now and then however the Victory is Theirs. Their enemies are the descendants of the bond lady that God and Sarah solid out into the wasteland place. examine the King James version of the Holy Bible, the genuine, inspired word of God. all others are interpretations made with the aid of guy who will continuously fail you. yet God won't in any respect fail you or forsake you. Amen

This conflict come from US especially George W Bush and his family. Look what his done in Iraq, he instructed his army to rape, shot to death and burnt body of Abeer Qassim Al Janabi aged 14 and killed all her family.
The name of US army who conduct rape and murder of 14 year Iraqi was Pfc. Steven D. Green, Spc. James P. Barker, Sgt Paul E. Cortez, Ptc. Jessee V. Spielman, Pfc. Bryan L. Howard. The Iraqi government want these bastards but the US army have an immunity against any accusation in any local court in Iraq.
Shame on whole US people. You have voted your President as an International Criminal same as Cartel the Drug dealer.
Call for people of world to drag out vigorously George W Bush The Terrorist to the International Justice Court and boycott all kind of product and services from US. Make them suffer and pennyless. Yeehaa.....

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.
In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the U.N. with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 200,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.
This solution creates peace in the region and gets the U.N. out of New York .
