My husband could do with loosing about 5stone but neither of us can agree on diets etc. I was wondering what it would cost to have a diet/sensible eating plan written up & monitored weekly

The typical cost of a personal nutritionist is in the range of $150-200 per hour. The real message that they will try to convey to you is portion control. They would not recommend a diet, because people view diets as something you are on for a short time and then stop. They would tell you the best way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to eat balanced meals (3 meals and 3 snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism going), do 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise everyday, substituting resistance training on two or 3 of those days, and be very aware that your plate is a single portion - even if you go out to eat. Bottom line...always factor in what you are eating and drinking each day (start out by writing everything down, listing the calories too). See how many calories you are consuming in one day. Continue keeping the diary if you have some habits to break. I hope this info helps and best of luck to you and your husband with your weight loss goals.

It would cost about £40 to start and a further £15-20 weekly based on a 15 minute session with a private dietician, i would strongly advise it, it will be of great benefit good luck

he should ask his GP for a referral to a dietician. not sure why you would need to go private.
