VW New Beetle?

What do you think of the new beetle? is it a good car? expensive maintenance? good investment? what color would you choose?

Overall I think the New Beetle is a great car. The maintenance is not anymore expensive than other cars similar to it besides oil changes and inspections of course. I think it would be a good investment because you'll get most out of it what you paid for it. I would get either Gecko green or Harvest blue. Some people say VW's are not reliable cars, but they are wrong, I own a '72 super bug and have had no problems with it and it still has its original engine over 34 years old! Trust me it is a very kool car. -And they'll run forever!

I bought a 2000 New Beetle in Dec 99. I like it yet am a little disappointed in the quality of the car and how it is lasting. The interior "rubberdized" trim on the door handles and around the shifter area is all peeling off, I have had to replace the A/C but other than that nothing really wrong. I do all my maintenance at the dealer and glad I got the extended warranty - fun to drive but might consider the jetta instead next time - though has the same type interior

A neon, OMG LOL good looks are out of the question with that car. I wonder why they stopped making them. I have owned and driven those cars they are POS.

Beetles are very economical cars. Just keep up tha maintenace and you shouldnt have any problems. Maintenance is expenisve on any car now a days. No car is a good investment they all lose their value. If you want something to invest in look into real estate.

VW are great cars if you take care of it, it will take care of you.

A Volkswagen beetle, is very economical to own. The maintenance is not very expensive, at all. It is a good little car, if it is the type that you want. Gas mileage is great. If you do the required maintenance every time that it says, in your owners manual, the car will last forever. I cannot recommend a color, that would be your personal choice..Good Luck, in your new car..

It is very overpriced and the maintenance is very expensive because you have to do EVERYTHING in the VW dealer. Expensive repairs. Bad investment, as they lose their value quickly. Buy used if you want it.
I have friend who liked VW but they stop buying it because nobody works in them and there were expensive to own.

German cars are pricey with maintenance nor are they really reliable over an extended period of time
Not a good investment unless it's for pleasure.
A color I'd choose...uh...probably black magic...that color VW offers with the black and then some little sparkles. =p

Decent car, I would choose blue or yellow. They are German, so parts might be a little pricy. Try a Dodge Neon. They are small, zippy, and good looking. Maybe an RT Neon! Look at my picture, and see what one looks like. They do not make them anymore, but you can get one for about $2-6000, that is not bad, for an American 180 horsepower compact sports car!

IF YOU HAVE A GREAT JOB THAT PAYS WELL .YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO KEEP IT UNDER WARRANTY. BUT IF IT IS NOT A APPROVED SHOP DOING THE MAINTENANCE ,YOUR WARRANTY MAY BECOME NULL AND VOID. IT IS A CUTE CAR. COLLISION WISE IT'S NOT THE BEST CAR TO BE IN. GO TO YOUR LOCAL JUNK YARDS AND LOOK AT THE ONES THAT BEEN HIT. SEE IF YOU STILL WANT TO BUY ONE. AS FOR THE GAS MILEAGE , THEY ARE GREAT CARS.
COLORS ARE ALL IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.... I HAVE EVEN SEEN THEM IN TWO TONE COLORS ......HOPE THIS WAS USEFUL INFO

Cute car. I smile every time I see one. Would I buy one? Not on your life! I don’t need strangers questioning my sexual orientation and Volkswagen has run into some quality issues in the last few years.
