Yes that is really bad! Those white cords are a major structural part of the tire. They're appearing in the edge probably because the tire is over inflated or out of alignment. Get a new set of tires ASAP!

It's bad dude. That means are you down to the radial belt of the tire. I would pick up a new set of slicks soon or you'll be changing a tire on the side of the road. And if you're in an accident you will be cited for faulty tires.

If it is what I'm thinking and it is on the side of the tire, that is not your belts. Your radial belts are not generally painted white, they are just plain looking steel mesh. If it is the side of the tire this is not generally a cause for alarm, but it does mean that you need to stop hitting curbs. If that continues then real damage can occur. Oh and it would be a good idea to have them rotated.......

Hey man, don't get sucked in by all the corporate propaganda. They only want you to spend more money on tires. Guess what tires are made out of? Oil! So every time you needlessly replace a tire, GWB and his Halli-whatever buddies are laughing there fat asses all the way to the bank. Don't get suckered into doing it.

As to those white cords, they just put them there to scare you... you know, to make the tire look really raggy. That's all. As long as your ride is running and you don't feel like it's out of control, you're fine.

Rock on dude!

Edit:
Hey, dumb *** bellow me. Don't you get that he's making fun at all of you? Do you actually think anyone would even ask such a question? He thinks he is making dumb asses out of all of you and I guess that, in your case, he did.

And Plushball, "klingon by choice"? You're not tough, just a wimp with a computer.

Those cords are showing , those are the belts. Mine was too, I did not tell my hubby, 2 days later, it blew, at the speed of 70, I flipped and wound up in a deep ditch. Thank the good Lord I was wearing my seat belt, called 911, the came and rescued me. I was very bruised. Get it changed pronto.

You need to get new tires, pronto. Means you could probably have a flat at anytime. Best time to go is first thing in the morning to any tire changing place, that way, you can get in and out pretty quickly.

This is bad. They are belts in the tires. Once they start coming through you can have a bad blow out while driving. Get new tires ASAP.

extremely bad. go to any tire place and buy a new tire or any local auto service place where you can buy a used tire instead of a new one if you can not afford it.
your tire is in its last days. it might even burst if you do not change it.

that's real bad. You need to get your tire changed ASAP before you have a blowout and ruin more than just a tire.
