And it is a polite way of saying it, as well.

I think "s" (person above) is right though ""Etre votre propre meilleur ami" doesn't sound good in French (at least, in "French from France")...

(edit: ...could also mean: to be your real/actual best friend...
sounds strange though... not sure which makes more sense...)
