I'm not a restaurant employee. But I heard this come up on a local radio station. They had restaurant employees call in and say if they knew anyone who had done it. I'd say it was about half and half. Most said they wouldn't do it themselves, but saw others doing it. I would suggest being nice to the waitor/waitress and give a nice tip, just to avoid the chance of spit. Even if they do a bad job, still be nice because the ones that do a bad job are the most likely to spit in your food.

I think, it depends on the type of restaurant, and the type of employees as well.
We never did anything like that at pizza hut. I was the cook and we were always so busy that we could care less about customers' rudeness.
I think that immature guys are the most frequent spitters.
I saw some guys in high school spitting at the ketchup dispenser once.

I have seen it happen a couple times. However, it's pretty rare. I seen co-workers spit in someones food just because they were really rude. I also dated a guy in high school that worked at a local pizza place. He said they would always screw with someones pizza if they didn't like the person who ordered it... (it was in a pretty small town) Just don't act like a total jerk and you will be just fine.

I recently suspected that someone spit in my food. I ordered some food at the Wendy's drive thru, and asked for "no mayonaisse" and the server said really sarcastic "that doesn't have mayonaisse" in a pissed off tone. At the window some workers in the back peeked out and laughed, and the server said "enjoy your food.." and laughed in a sarcastic manner. I checked the food and just could not eat it, I know they did something nasty to it.

So if you ever see the cooks peek and look at you and laugh and you have a real sarcastic server, I wouldn't recommend eating it.

I've been working at a Mr. Gatti's pizza place for a while now, two years and I haven't seen anyone do anything disgusting to any of the food, and I am very proud to be able to say that.

If you return it,probably not.But.....if you are rude to the waiter or waitress, you can probably expect to eat a little snot or spit. There is alot of crude things that go on in restaurants. If a chef drops a $20.00 steak,he picks it up, brushes it off,and throws it on the grill. It's just the way it is.Nothing life threatning,so I wouldn't worry. If you are a low tipper, you will be remembered if you frequent the place, and who knows what they will do to your food.

Nope- I have been in the biz for 17 years. Never seen it.

I don't know what kind of crap hole Jacob S worked in, but waiting was a complete farce. A very exaggerated version at that.

If anyone were to do anything to your food you would have to be extremely rude to push them that far.

Their the client, and that they are spending money. you are the eating place's representative. the client autmatically, clearly with the aid of human nature, assaults the rep before all people else. it is why once you're a waiter/waitress at a eating place and the nutrients is undesirable, they whinge at you. they might't see the persons who made the nutrients, nor the proprietors of the eating place, they might only see you. for this reason, you're representing the coolest purchase of the business company, and you gets each and every thing against it in return.

I never have, but when I worked at McDonalds one of my friends who worked with me would always spit in the iced tea of this girl she didn't like when she came through drive through. The girl had physically asaulted my friends mother so maybe she did deserve it.
