it's definitely not good.....But not always bad... It's caused by crowding or mispositioning of the teeth.... I have a slight overbite but nothing major..... I have a friend though that the teeth where so crowded that as he got older they were pushed forward to extreme proportions.... To the point he needs surgery to fix......

There are good and bad overbites. The question is, how MUCH overbite do you have? Some degree of overbite is considered normal and most orthodontists treat with the goal of leaving some overbite and overjet.

Overbite is good because, if your teeth met edge-to-edge, you'd be chipping them off all the time and they'd soon become short and ugly little stumps of teeth.
