Teachers need to take the high road on the highway of morals. You will always have parents who are rude. Some parents accuse teachers of being racist for failing their child, even though the child is as dumb as dirt and deserves to fail.
If the parent is just being rude, politely tell them to calm down and speak politely or the conversation is over. If they are trying to get you fired, make sure for whatever reason they are using you have documentation or evidence to back your side of things. Lastly, contact your union. I'm not sure in which state you teach but California's Teachers Union is one of the largest and most powerful forces to reckon with. And they protect their own from such nonsense.

Yes we do. I actually teach in England or use to. I did not give because of that though.
teachers have good support from the school and head teacher or principal this is vital as some parents can be tough. Parents out there remeber we are one person with often more than 25 kids in a class! Teachers like to be told by parents if the family or child are not happy, but equally we like to know when we are doing a good job too!
If i was in a position where I was being victimised to be fired i would seek support of the school and education department. I would record all the things that had happened and date them. I would also always have a witness in the room when talking to families should they say I said something i did not say. It is sad but as well as teach, teachers have to protect themselves. Anyway sorry i have got on my soap box a little! Hope this answers your question though! :0)

Depends on the circumstances. Somebody is always going to be displeased with how someone teaches. Try to get the parent involved in the classroom, see how the teacher and child behave.
I did have a teacher fired, due to inappropriate sexual conduct. This was a small town, I went to the Chief of Police with my evidence before I accused ( I knew him personally) He was stunned and shocked, and advised my to go to the County Attorney. I did, the scandal rocked the school, the teacher had evidence on his hard drive that more then 10 other high school girls were involved and 3 Collage girls.
While this was happening the teacher begged us not to tell, trying to contact the family, etc....Sorry I felt no need to hide this and hope it saved other girls.
The teacher was let go from school, with pay and kept his teaching license, he kept all benefits and retirement.
Was justice served?

It is seen as part of the job.
Any good teacher will have communication skills good enough to listen to, and advise any angry parent.
Teachers are in it for the love of teaching.
As for one parent trying to get a teacher fired, I can't see it happening.
Although all lines of inquiry are dealt wih officially and with consideration to everyone concerned, headteachers areteachers too and know that if a teacher has been teaching without complaint for a long time, chances are this is a clash of personalities and will be dealt with accordingly

As long as you have done nothing wrong, why worry? I would let the principal know the situation so that he/she hears it first from you.
My wife is a teacher, maybe I can have her write to you. But don't give up on teaching. Every teacher goes through this crap. Parents think they know everything about how to teach their kids.

yes, a lot of us fill that way at times but you know what if you know that she is going to be a problem get the student transfer ed out of your class immediately you will run into other issues with her or try asking her if you can visit her job and seek out to fire her. then the ball is in your court. sometimes if you get as crazy as them then sometimes they will leave you alone I had this one parent threaten me to get fired I resin-ed cause I was just starting out. then I got another one and I got up in there face and told them I don't come to your job and tell you how to do it so you need to give me a chance. well that parent ended up being the best parent I had they would volunteer and so on. So they just want to know if you got what it takes to not take a bunch of **** and know that there kid is being protected as well

ask to have the student removed/transfered from your class, and if the next teacher, or there is no other teacher to take him/her, tell the parents its alway a option to take him/her out of the school.

i have several friends who are teachers. they teach lower grades k-5... and i cannot believe the hard time they have with parents.... some people have lots of time on their hands and stick their two cents in too often. i think it makes the teachers like their job less

There's very little, they can do- other than trying to prove any allegatins false, and/or agree to do whatever the parents want. Yes, some times they do feel like it- regardless.
