I love Menage a Trois red. I like a dry red wine, especially cabernet. Honestly, just go to the wine aisle and pick a bottle that catches your eye and is in your price range. If you think you'll drink a glass a day, then look at boxed wine too. I have a box of white wine in my fridge right now. It used to be a big no-no, but boxed wine is getting better and better. I'm not sure what you have available to you, but Sutter Home is very popular. Not my favorite, but a good place to start. From there you can decide if you prefer a sweeter wine or one that is more dry.

My fav inexpensive red are:

Six Prong Red
Pepe Sangiovese
Cycles Gladiator Syrah
House Red
Maryhill Reserve Sangiovese (this may be a little more than $20)
Amberhill Cabernet
Il Bastardo
Chiaramonte

I know, it's so hard to pick inexpensive red table wines. We've drunk some real losers. Of the top four I have listed, I always have at least several bottles of several of them. My current favs are the six prong and the cycles - both are right around $10 but drink like twice the wine.

Good luck in your search!

You can get a good bottle of wine for 7-12 dollars. A Merlot is usually safe. Also try Shiraz or Sirah. They are much milder than a Red Zinfandel, Chianti or Beaujolais

"Marcel Hubert Medium Dry Red" or "Isla Negra Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot?" (almost flying off the shelves in my Dad's shop......... Isla Negra had a supply shortage problem at the Cash&Carry where we get the supplies from a couple months ago).

Here some independent reviews and other blurb I've managed to track down on them:
