You don't get over it, its a part of life that you learn to deal with, but when the media gets hold of a story of this magnitude they don't let go of it, sad to say, unless you are a nobody to them, Jon Benet's mother started putting her in beauty pageant's at a very early age, so she already had a reputation as a beauty queen.
Her brother must have really suffered through the years.
The only thing about the Media, is if you have the money to pursue the case with good attorneys, a lot of time you can catch someone sooner( well, I guess that didn't work in this case), but with Elizabeth Smart, heaven, only know where she would have ended up with those people, if someone hadn't remembered seeing her picture flashed on TV everyday.
It was a very sad case, they must have suffered a roller coaster o f emotions, all downhill.
My heart also goes out to the parents who children are found dead, and just placed in a bag, with no crime being solved.

The Ramseys have been under suspicion the entire ten years. There's been a comprehensive coverup going on with the police and investigators. This suspect is just the latest effort to coverup who actually did the killing. If you read about the case extensively, you will discover that there is reason to believe foul play on the part of the mother, but the evidence to convict is not present, so the courts can't arraign her (she died recently), or her husband, or bring them to trial. You'll see in the coming weeks all the confusion surrounding this case, because there is a collusion among law enforcement to protect the father. He's got plenty of money and pull, and it's possible the suspect is taking the fall for the crime, because there's a payoff down the line after he does the time.

There've been cases of murder all over the world, this one has just been very publicized. The Ramseys probably had a difficult time, as have countless others in similar situations.

Well, they can concentrate on other matters. If Mrs. Ramsey was still alive, I'd suggest having anohter daughter, and naming her the same name.
