As anything new introduced into your mouth it will become easier to eat as you get used to them..Try starting out with softer foods and each week introduce different foods..As the Dentist tightens the braces you may feel unfomfortable for a few hours this will pass. But just keep in mind that when the braces come off you will have a fantastic smile make sure you show it a lot.If te braces are cutting your lips ask for some wax to cover the sharp edges.

Aww so sorry for you. I had braces and those things do hurt. It seems like if I remember right everytime I had an adjustment to tighten them it would take about a week before things stopped hurting. You'll have to eat yogurt and applesauce. All the lovely mushy stuff. Mashed potatoes and gravy. YUM.

Sorry about that. You'll look great when it's all done so just keep thinking about that.

It will hurt for about a week. I had braces and it took me a little longer than that but I don't tolorate pain well. Any time they do an adjustment on them it will hurt for a few days after that. They are pulling on your teeth to move them into place so it is going to hurt but the end result will be great. Also it will hurt when they do come off for a few days. They will have been pulled one direction for so long and then there won't be anything pulling on them so they relax. Just wear your retainer so they don't get out of wack again! :)

Wow Jessie’s a real b****! Don’t listen to him/her.
I have never had braces but I have friends who do. They do hurt for a while but soon the pain will be over. The dentist wouldn’t put them on people if it stopped them from eating. lol They would die! Just give it some time! I’m sure there are MANY pain killers and other medicines you can take in the mean time! Just ask your mom/dad to get you some!

Give it time, eat some soft food such as puddings, and jellos, stuff that you do not have to chew as much.

Take some pain relever such as tylenol, advil, or aleeve, or if your dentist perscribed you something for the pain take it. The pain should go away in a few days or a week though. It jsut depends on how high your pain tolerance is for how long the pain lasts.

Hope this helps.

When I got my braces my teeth hurt so bad that they took me back and they loosened them. Itshould go away in about a week or two at the most.

yeah it will go away...but since you just got them on it will take a few weeks to adjust...drink a lot of cool water and this might help the discomfort...if it continues to hurt or be an inconvience after 3 weeks..see the orthodontist

..and you made ONE typographical error...dont worry...the person that called you a moron I reported...b/c that was very rude!!

good luck!!

Oh yeah, it will take a few days getting used to, and then after awhile you won't even notice you are wearing them and you'll be able to eat with no problems.
