Take a tip from someone who's just done this, get sponsored by a company in your home country, ie be with a company and do an internal move with them to the US. It makes things a great deal easier becuase you will have a nightmare getting a SSN, drivers license, etc.. but more importantly without a credit history in the states you can't apply for loads of things and most goods/services cost more as you can't take advantage of their special offers.
...or do it illegally I spose !

Visit this site. It will tell you every thing you need to do to become an American citizen legally. You don't want to sneak over illegally. If you get caught then they will never let you in ever. Just do it the right way.
