If there was not a war on do you think that members of the army could and should be used in general law enforcement in the UK? if not then why, and if so do you think it would be a viable solution to the raising violent crimes in the country?

I wouldn't think so. Training for Police and training for the Military are for different purposes. Police are trained to keep the peace and enforce laws. The military is trained to kill and wage war. More money for more police and equipment would be a good idea.

I wouldn't want the military to help fight crime. That would distract them from their purpose to protect the country. More law enforcement officers and a good education are needed to combat the rising crime rates. Most criminals are dumber than a box of rocks and can't survive in the real world which is why they turn to crime. Theys be un edjoomacated.
