If they're legally here and have worked and paid into the system, yes they do. I see it everyday, good, hard-working, honest people that have immigrated legally or have become legal residents that have worked and paid into the system that have been hurt on the job or have become disabled due to a devastating disease like cancer.
What really gets me is those that just waved a little U.S. flag and as soon as they signed their certificates of naturalization head straight to our office and demand benefits as "U.S. Citizens" and they get them.
So here's a person that has never worked a day in the U.S., claims a disability or is 65 years or older who just became a citizen actually receiving SSI disability or aged benefits and gets MEDICAL (MEDICAID) for free. So they never paid a cent into the system and get all of this for nothing? Incredible, but true.
The 65 year old never-worked-a-day-in-my-life-in-the-U.S. will get benefits automatically. The new citizen has the same right, like you and me, to claim disability and possibly receive it and in a high percentage actually get benefits. Social Security is heading for a total collapse before 2020.

Well, where do I start? It all depends on what he/she is entitled. The way it works is, if he/she worked legally in the us. He has the right to collect what ever he has contribute for up to one year after that he has to have had some kind of insurance to take over or its disability for life then comes Social Security Benefits. Many things have to be in order in order to work properly, the system works but some people want to get something from our economy and yes there is as long as you have legally contributed to it. This is one of the many reasons we need to work on an Immigration Regulation program there are many wholes in the current system. People using other peoples information and no one is entitled to the benefits not even the person who’s information was used...

Why should America have to pay disablity to some lazy Mexican? He has to come here for disability? Why should the Americans spend money on someone who didn't contribute anything to this economy?

If the Mexican immigrant is legally in the country, of course. All the options are open to him or her. If the immigrant is not legally in the country, then nothing applies.
As a previous respondant noted, it is a shame that everyone of Hispanic origin is being branded as an illegal immigrant, when most of them are simply hard working citizens whose roots are in another country but whose hearts are in the U.S.A.

You need to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to receive benefits. Also, Social Security disability payments are an entitlement program not a welfare program - you must have worked at least 10 years and paid Social Security taxes for those 10 years in order to be eligible to receive disability benefits from SSA.

When I lived in New Mexico, I learned that, somehow, the Illegal Aliens could get disability for on the job injuries suffered in the U.S. There was even a joke line I heard all too often... it had to do with putting a rock in one of your shoes so you could remember which foot to limp with... and "HEY... 100,000 MEXICAN'S CAN'T BE ALL WRONG".

I imagine it would depend on if the immigrant was LEGAL or not.
There is no reason a legal immigrant, from any country, shouldn't be entitled to these benefits.
On the other hand, if the immigrant is an ILLEGAL, I doubt very much that ANY benefits would or should be issued.

Mexican immigrants have more rights in this country than natural born citizens. They can get anything they want they just have to go to social services in the town they live in.

If he immigrated legally into the USA yes. But like all of us he has to prove that he got hurt at work if work related. or if its not work related he has to prove that he is disabled and cannot work. there is state disability and social security disability. and even if he is illegal and got hurt at work and can also prove that the got hurt at work he can get it. I have seen them (illegals) get lump sums of money and go back to Mexico.
