Study: Immigrants Not Taking Jobs From Americans
By Stephen Ohlemacher, Associated Press 8/17/06

WASHINGTON -- Big increases in immigration since 1990 have not hurt employment prospects for American workers, says a study released Thursday.

More proof that the whole "issue" of immigration is a concious effort of politiicans to use US citizens insecurity about the war and the economy and wrongly direct people's anger toward immigrants.

It's a tried and true method of deflecting blame from the politicians who set these policies onto vulnerable groups who have no representation.

Corporate greed should be illegal, not human beings!!!

They dont take them from them, they get hired on instead of them sometimes. The employer is who makes the decision who would be the better worker. I figure, if you are willing to work as hard for less money, then you are more deserving of the position.

Illegal or Legal immigrants? Illegal Immigrants do take some jobs from naitives, but Legal immigrants fill other job openings. That being said, I'll bet you didn't know that 15 years ago, Janitorial work used to pay around 12-15 dollars an hour. Then employers found out that they could hire illegals for literally a fraction of that. Most people say that Illegals do the job that many americans don't want to do, but the fact is illegals brought down the wages of many jobs and now americans can't work that job and actually survive on the wages.

One thing you'll notice in the news is that they somehow keep 'forgetting' to differentiate between legal, and illegal immigration. I'm not worried about people that are really coming to find honest work, I'm concerned about the guys/gals that are here to steal stuff, credit card numbers, property, cars, selling guns/drugs, all that other 'fun' stuff...if the only problem was too many people looking for work because they couldn't find a job back home, we'd throw the doors wide open, But, since there's other issues at work, hence the concern with illegal immigration.

Yes, in a way they do take jobs from native workers. Employers hire immigrants because they will work for less money than native workers would. I wouldn't call us being lazy.....who do you think did all these jobs before these immigrants got to this country?

Oh yeah, I'm going to take the word of a pro-illegal, mainstream media frog.

I lost my production/installation job in the sign industry to illegal aliens. Big sign companies, ever mindful of the bottom line, to hell with their employees, are hiring unskilled labor to fabricate and install signage, rather than those of us who spent their entire teen years in apprenticeship, and adult years honing their skills in this industry, because the illegals will work for $8 an hour no benefits, while skilled Americans make over $20, plus benefits.

Just another crap article spewing the trash the mainstream media continually force-feeds the public. I am a victim of illegal immigration. So are these folks: http://www.immigrationshumancost.org

Yet more illegal aliens doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do. http://www.predatoryaliens.com/index.htm

No, immigrants do not take jobs from American workers. Most immigrants who come legally on work visas do not steal jobs. In order to get work visas, the companies employing immigrants have to show that they have tried to hire American workers at competitive rates - but still failed to find anyone to work for them. For certain fields such as the sciences or IT there are simply no US workers qualified for such jobs and companies are forced to hire immigrants - I say forced because the whole visa process is very cumbersome and expensive. If companies could find US workers, they would use them instead of spending thousands of dollars per immigrant.

DPH, You got your answer a little wrong. It should be immigrants do the work that lazy people like me dont want to do, referring to you you lazy ****. Dont say "we" because you do not know me and i have done their kind of work before and am more than happy to do it again. My father and brother are landscapers and they are not lazy and neither am I. Next time dont clump americans together saying we wont do the work they do, because alot of americans do this kind of work and are not lazy shits like you are.

companies want to over work people and give them a low pay....so what do an American citizen do...... they leave they job.. the corporations need workers.....and who do they turn to... immigrants who are willing to do a back breaking job for low pay...

if we are going to blame somebody.....we should blame the corporations for not paying the right salary to American citizens who are willing to work for the right pay.

They "take" some jobs but for the most part they fill "new" jobs.

That said, you're in favor of OPEN BORDERS FOREVER, right? No border controls - none, nada, zipola - is that it?

If not, exactly what is it you DO propose?
