I had one of these very loyal dogs though be careful at they can also be very protective. Also being herding dogs they are not big fans of kids running randomly in the backyard. They like to herd them together.
Best bet is to go to yahoo and type in Australian Shepherd rescue and you state.

Good Question.I live in Toronto and took a 4yr female Tabby,couldnt be happier with any cat.Here its Toronto Humane Society,and every state,inUSA has SPCA and animal rescue websites,and you can do specific searches for Dogs/Birds/skunks/ferrets/snakes,etc.Really !Wish I could be more specific,but search Animal Recue,or shelters,protective societies.But for example,Check the one I mentioned,and again ref- on the bottom.Good luck,Eddie/67

when you find one be careful!!! lots of scammers out there if you get something that's too good to be true then it probably is!!! there's a group of people out there that are claiming to give away free puppies and when you email them they respond and say that its too late but they have someone that just got shipped away for something missionary work or yada yada yada and they can't take care of the dog anymore so they have to send it away but you have to cover shipping costs of around $200...it's scam stay away! usually they ask you to send the money to Nigeria or somewhere
