How much do we spend in order to get an online degree? I looked at a site (University of Phoenix) and it was too expensive. Do you know any cheaper online degree programs? Can you suggest some?

Try Baker Online www.baker.edu I believe they are cheaper. They are definately a good school (I am student there now). From what I've heard about University of Phoenix is that all they really want is your money. You may also want to check because some community colleges offer online classes, the only problem is that all the classes may not be offered online so it depends on how flexible your schedule is.

I think to get an exclusively online degree is to miss out on the social aspect of college and have reduced interaction with your professor. A personal relationship with a prof or profs you like can be very rewarding. However, an online class or degree does take discipline because it typically requires daily log-ins and no follow up from the professor on projects. It is a trade off. And actually, your degree does not state whether the degree was obtained on-line or not. So your angle could be that you enjoyed the social learning and networking for a time then transitioned into the online classes so you could focus on self-development in a work situation.

On line degrees from most universitites is not worth the money. I am not arguing the quality of the education, but the perception which exists at employers. If you are entering a basic field w/o a desire to be competitive in the market, an on-line degree might help, but if you wish to be considered a serious candidate then a brick/mortar school would be better.
Consider going to a local community college, take on-line classes there. Then transfer to a local university for on-line classes. This is a cheaper and better option.

Try these two. The first website is where I got my associate's degree from. VERY affordable and fun too.

If a Canadian university would work for you, Athabasca University in Alberta is well recognized and their specialization is distance learning of all sorts, including on line.

I hope this helps.
