In America, we have 'cookies.' Pretty much everywhere else, those same cookies are called 'biscuits.' But then what do they call OUR biscuits?

American Biscuits are called ,"scones," or ,"North American biscuits," in England.

We have cookies here, too. (Chocolate Chip cookies aren't called biscuits). Probably the closest thing to an American biscuit would be scones, although they are sweeter than the type you're referring to. You certainly wouldn't dip a scone in gravy! Similar in texture, but you'd eat a scone with clotted cream and jam.
