I mean, I have some of his clothes as well...but I have left it alone...not feeling the need to return some Pj's and t-shirts, toothbrush etc..I just don't get it...any suggestions?

he wants to see you!!!!!!!!!!! very obvious! no matter how you feel don't be a hard liner! just like patrick swayze said in the movie road house "just be nice".
you never know what the next day, week, year, or 5 years bring. see what he is up too!
never burn a bridge!!!!!
this doesn't mean i'm suggesting for you to see him (dating wise)or anything like that because i'm not but you never knows what is down the road!
stay cool and make the swap!

Possibilities:
1) He has a new girlfriend and doesn't want her to see your stuff at his place, but doesn't feel right just throwing it away either.
2) He needs space in his closet, and doesn't feel right throwing away your stuff.
3) He wants to talk to you about things other than old pajamas, and this seemed like the best way to do it.
If the two of you have something unresolved - either you need to talk to him, or hear something he has to say - call him and talk. If you don't, send him an email instructing him to give the things to the Salvation Army, and hold on to the closure you have already.
Either way, think of your needs first, and his motives second.

He probably wants to see if you have really moved on, because most likely if he is all of a sudden deciding to return your clothes after four months he has realized that he made a mistake. It's probably the only thing he could think of to be able to talk to you, without actually having to admit that he misses you.

The only reason that he called you, is because he had to make up something so he could see you again. He still loves you. He misses you and he just affraid to admitt it. Anytime, someone breaks up with you and they try to get on your nerves, make you mad, or even call you and tell you that you left your stuff and you need to come and get it, all it means is that they haven't got over you yet. They are too busy trying to see what you doing and to see if you are happy. Thats all...

Either he's trying to find a way to reconnect with you by talking about clothing or he's just trying to get you out his life and it includes returning things that remind him of you.The four month part maybe he just found them or he wasn't sure whether to call

I'm no expert by any means but my guess, from my own experience, could be a couple of things...a) He wants an excuse to talk to you again b) He's cleaning/moving & doesn't want them around anymore c) There's a new woman in his life & he doesn't want her asking questions.

don't think too much about it... he probably just wants to return your stuff... and of course I wouldn't be surprised that at some level he also wants to just see you... after all you two cared about eachother for some time and guys can't just turn off the swiitch (like some women can)... so yeah... it's nothing too serious i am sure... just a mix of feelings and returning stuff...

It is an excuse to see you! I am sure if you do get together to do the exchange thing, he will want to talk as well. Maybe he regrets the whole break up or he just misses you, what ever it is, one thing is for sure he wants to see you!

I think you want us to say he wants you back but no he just wants to return your clothes. He thought it would be more suitable to wait 4 months so that you wouldn't get any ideas. But it seems you did anyway. He just wants to return your clothes.

maybe he got some one new and dont want any other girls stuff around his palce in case the new flame takes it as a sighn he sill has feelings for you. or maybe he just wanted an excuse to catch up wit ya .
