I change the litter out in my cats' box every two to three days. Of course, I scoop out the dirty litter every day, but as far as dumping and cleaning out the entire box, I do that two to three times a week. I find that using baking soda (regardless of what brand of litter you use) in between cleanings eliminates most of the odor, if not all of it.

Hi there...if you are using scoopable/clumpable litter cleaning daily should be sufficient then top it off with a little bit of fresh litter every few days. If it's not the clumpable type then it would be about every few days like are you doing and then empty and refill it with fresh litter.
Once every couple of months it would be best to empty the box and wash/scrub it down with bleach and then rinse very thoroughly with hot water. Don't forget to do this with the scooper too. This sterilizes them and helps minimize the growth of bacteria over time. When you empty the box prior to washing you can later pour back that litter so long as you've thoroughly scooped up all the waste if it's the scoopable/clump formula. Again if it's the other type then just start with fresh litter.

We dump all our litter around once every 7 days. Sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less. We scoop every day, at least twice a day, but we also have a full grown large cat. Basically the box should be cleaned anytime there is something in it and it should be dumped when it starts to smell. We use liners so that the litter and urine don't stick to the bottom of the box and the smell doesn't become permanent in the box. It makes cleanup so much easier.
Good luck to you! : )

I scoop the "stuff" (lol) out of my litter box once a day. and then change the littler bag once a week. Some times I also scoop it out twice a day if my cat seems to go a lot. Fresh litter is important to a cat because they are very clean animals. One time I had to wait a little over a week to change the litter, I was busy, and she pee peed on my couch. So now I change it every week.

I have been scooping it out every morning. I buy Ever Clean litter, which says you only have to change it once a month, but I do it about every week and a half or so. I think most litters should be completely changed once a week. Enjoy your kitty! I've had mine for three weeks and I love her already!

With one kitten you should sift every day as you do but you don't have to change it so often. Try once a week and see how that works out. If you don't feel that does it, cut back a day at a time ( 7 days-6 days-5 days) till you find what you are comfortable with

Scoop every day. Change litter once a week.
If you use Nature's Miracle (spray) during the weekly cleaning, the odor will be greatly diminished.
Don't use citrus cleaners around the litterbox, bc cats hate citrus and they may stop using the box. Also, make sure any cleaner you use is non-toxic.

My wife cleans ours every day sometimes twice and she never dumps out litter just adds more when needed and our kitty's are very happy and that way you don't have to deal with all the dust in the air from you dumping out the old. and my wife is VERY anal about cats so much so that if we go to someone else's house who doesn't clean it enough she will just clean there box also.

You are doing a great job. I've had cats all my life and replacing the litter every three days is perfect. Scooping it every day helps a lot also!

I many times scooped my kitten's container on a daily basis to make optimistic smell and pee/ poop replaced into wiped sparkling out. approximately as quickly as a month could be sufficient to maintain the container sparkling. If the muddle starts to bypass down, and remains sparkling (no pee mixed around in it) then you extremely can basically upload greater muddle. in case you spot that the pee is caught to the backside of the container, scoop it out and alter it or you will have greater smell and greater of a multitude. try utilising TidyCats cat muddle or Arm and Hammer, it extremely is greater high priced despite the fact that it final plenty longer and you dont could thoroughly replace the container as oftentimes.
