That's Atheist CONTINGENT, not to be confused with Atheists and Co.

Well anyway, entertained by the "housewife and the mustard stain story" (which the atheists had promised was absolutely FAITH SHATTERING) I went back for more to see if my faith in the Risen Lord could withstand further attacks. WHEW! It still has, but I must issue a warning.

Believers BEWARE. Do *not* go to that website without the keen spiritual discernment to escape snares such as the following:

QUOTE:
What if Jesus tells stories that are completely untrue? For example, take Matthew 4:8 as an example: [ed: Now THAT's putting the repetition back into redundancy.] "Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor." The problem with this story is that the earth must be flat for it to work. From a tall mountain it is impossible to see "all the kingdoms."
ENDQUOTE

A spiritual vision is unimaginable for the spiritually blind, I suppose.

And since by the looks of things, an answer coming from an atheistic point of view is going to be selected, I am sorry to all you believers who have written more than a few paragraphs here on the matter. But then again, it's NOT about the points, is it?

To Eduardi: The "Atheist Contingent" was a reference to an inside joke amongst a group I will never be inside.

You know what excites me is that they attack Christians so passionately. Look at how many of them haunt the religion and spirituality section. If there was nothing to Christianity they would ignore us completely.

Not at all. And as for Matthew 4:8: they are forgetting that the devil is not mortal. He has the ability to do things beyond the laws of nature. One version of the Bible translates this verse as "Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world IN A MOMENT OF TIME and their splendor." I've also heard that it could mean all the kingdoms of the then-known world.

Either way, I don't buy into their "God is imaginary" dogma.

And since nothing is impossible for GOD, A person would have to be there. But how much more imposible than the sun that never explodes, never sends off a huge solar flare propelling it at us or out of orbit.Or those clouds that have no real substance but can pick up enough water to flood states.Mind you a 20' x 20' x 1" deep pond of water weighs approx. 2 tons that's pretty impressive to me.Why do they pick it up in the first place, could it be because GOD wants HIS trees and grass watered to give us life sustaining oxygen? Those eggheaded morons probably believe in the big-bang therory witch is stupidity because explosions produce flat twisted jagged projectiles,NOT PREFECTLY ROUND ONES. Take care and May the TRUE GOD Bless You. AND I am absolutely unintimadated by morons, expecially when I know the truth for myself and no egghead can take it from me.

I believe in God but not in the divinity of Jesus, but I personally depend upon in iherent belief within myself that God exists. It is not a "logical" conclusion that I came to based on "evidence" such as holy books or stories, but rather a conviction that I have with the full understanding that I could be wrong. Therefore, no. And atheist site does not cause me any concern: they drew their conclusions much the same way I did, so their beliefs are every bit as valid as my own.

That said, why would anyone aspire to shattering another's faith??

i have not yet looked at the website, and there is no need to...
I know what I believe in which is the Lord Jesus Christ. You can't argue a point with those people. I married a athesist at one time and thank the Good Lord I got over that..He tried to stop me telling me that I couldn't read my baby a bible story... and guess where he is..living off the streets...that's another topic..
What I am getting at.. The Lord doesn't expect the believers to argue... But one day when those athesists split the gates of hell wide open they will cry out to the Lord then, and guess what HE will say...I never knew you..... We believers know what we believe in and they know what they believe in..we don't have to mix with them.. that is the great thing about freedom of religion..
so the best thing to get over on the athesist.......just dont talk about it !!!!

God has not given me a spirit of timidity, but one of love & of sound mind.

The Holy Spirit of Truth has already confirmed in my spirit the truth of the Word of God.

The Devil is spiritual also & Jesus sees spiritual also. And, yes they both saw all the kingdoms of the world & their splendor. I had heard this comment before. When Jesus was to be tempted by the Devil, the only thing untrue were the Devil's lies.

The Devil tempted, saying similar temptations He had done to Adam & Eve. This had to be done, so Jesus was tempted & overcame Satan's deception. He had to be tempted like the first Adam who fell. Jesus was the Lamb without blemish.

this website is easily arguable. They offer no real proof other than common sense. But they often contradict themselves worse than they claim the bible does! for example, in a video on that site, they quote i htink Mark 11:23
"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
And the video goes on to prove through trial and error, that if you throw a dice and ask for 2 sixes, it will not be given to you.
However, this video also states that "any normal intelligent person already knows what's going to happen" before they throw the dice.
Well, this is already going against the verse isn't it? you are doubting already. So this variable has already been thrown out of the equation, and the results can easily be twisted any way you like.
God is not imaginary, I have seen him perform many great miracles. This site is just an exuse for those who are afraid of taking accountability for their own sin.

There is no such thing as the "atheist contingent". We don't need to gather and talk to each other every week to keep our convictions going. It's only believers who need to feed their faith by continuously telling each other that god exist. It's only believers who have to keep quoting their fairy tale book, the Bible, so that eventually they end up believing in it. All WE need to do is look around and see that there's nothing to see that proves there is a god. There's a natural world that may or may not have been created by god. There's human beings who may be a divine creation... or not. And so on.

Read on... thanks,

I am not intemidated by the unwise....

For an athiest to claim that his oppinion and ideology are complete truth... is for him to be very closed minded...

He cannot disproove God... he can only convince himself....

so he is living in his own godless world, where the truth as he sees it is in conflict with the facts as they are...

Some Athiest's ideologies have been so well ingrained into their own mindes that without seeing the evidence to proove or disproove God, they automatically believe that God does not exist....

To some they wouldn't believe if they stood right in front of God....

Of course some would rather believe in anything short of insanity and beyond than in God... sad

so they argue the small things, things that they don't understand in the Bible and they jump to conclusions... but they always avoid the big issues, problems with their own belief and religion.... the Theory of Evolution...

They never question it.... even though the scientific evidence prooves Evolution false.... and if it is false... creationism is the only other scientific alternative...

FACT: It is scientifically immposible for DNA to make new information... it can only copy old information, and it also shuffles information, resulting in variety within each species, and sometimes it loses information- resulting in birth defects, cancer, and other abnormalities...

THIS Fact is in conflict with the Theory of Evolution's evolution in all creatures... this fact prooves Evolution to be scientifically imposible...

each creature including humans differ because of DNA shuffling between the parants to the ofspring.... in each case each creature remains within its own species... even if they look different, small, big, whatever...

FACT: Life cannot form from non-life.

Evolution states that life formed atom by atom molecule by molecule until it somehow formed a cell that had no defects and that reproduces asexualy somehow...

this Fact again prooves evolution as fiction...

and here is the death blow...

FACT: NOTHING can form from nothing...

Evolution sates that one day bang... and everything started to form from nothing.... laws of gravity.... speed of light, light, atoms molecules...

Here is the problem... particles of atoms naturally detract from each other...

so how did those particles that exploded into being from nothing even begin to form into atoms? Without atoms no physical thing is possible...

it is like taking 2 North magnets and hoping that they will attract together.... not going to happen...

How did those particles even form a nucleous and form a stable orbit reaching incredible speeds aroung it?

And if it did... somehow magically... that's only 1 atom

odds of Evolution being fact = less than zero...

If Evolution isn't true, than Creation is, and if creation is, than that means there is a Creator.

Now that you have the facts, is that something that you can accept? It is a choice to have faith in the facts or not...

Some just can't handle the truth... and even though Evolution is scientificaly immposible... people that are blinded and ignorant by choice will live in it because they simply cannot accept the fact that God exist...

How sad....

will you yahooians chose to believe in the Facts, or the truth as you see it, in your own fictional world?

God bless

P.S. that scripture could have very well been a vision....

But the attemt to disproove it is just another vain attempt to cover up the real scientifical issues.

If the devil did not literally, rather than 'spiritually' show Jesus all the kingdoms in the world, what was the point of going up on the mountain?

I think you are hedging around the issue. Questions about the Bible and a flat vs spherical earth are not what broke my faith, but the the fact that Christian tap-dance around all these questions did push me in that direction . . .

Being intimidated by a website is stupid! Just because someone has chosen to put that on the web doesn't mean the people that believe in God will change their minds after reading it. Besides, not everything in the bible was meant literally.
