I would try looking into local charities to see if they can help or at least point you in the right direction to recieve financial help that you really need......... you may want to look into low income housing, they base the rent on your fixed income and you will still have money for food and other nessessities. Good luck, and blessed be........

see what local charitys and social services has to offer.
If you call around to several agencys and charities you might find some kind of help.
Here we have a band of charities that offer ,once a year emergency help of 500$ above and beyond what the other agencys offer plus they steer people they help to the places that can best serve them.

How did you lose your rent? Call your local social services office and explain your situation. They may be able to help. Also, speak with your landlord, be honest and forthwith. He/she may be willing to work out a payment plan.

If you lost the check just put a stop pay on it and issue a new check. Then talk to your bank and ask if they would not charge you for it. Give them your best sob story.

Those other answers all what you need to do. First, you mite ask your landlord what other tenants have done in an emergency and who has assisted his/her renters in the past.
