in general, to gain weight, you just need to consume more calories than you expend on a regular basis. make sure that you still eat healthy, though. lean protein, high quality carbs and good fats. eat alot and often, just don't overstuff yourself. that's never a good feeling. if you want to make sure that you gain lean weight - ie muscle - as opposed to fat, then you should exercise also. you won't need much cardio and any cardio that you do should be kept to under 30 min. or should be power-based, like sprinting and taking breaks in between. doing 30-40 min of straight running (or biking or elliptical . . . ) will only make it harder for you to gain weight. i definitely suggest lifting weights. you should try some basic lifts like squats, deadlifts, chest presses, rows and pull ups or pull downs. these exercises cause your body to release human growth hormone which will help you to build lean muscle and gain healthy weight. if you look around online you'll find info about form, etc. for each of these. http://stumptuous.com/cms/index.php is a great site for women. you want to do about 8 - 10 reps in a given set. if you're really gung ho and have some experience lifting weights already, you can try olympic powerlifting. it's great for building power and size. as you start to grow, make sure that you keep increasing your caloric intake because more muscle means your body will need more calories to maintain itself. it's a slow process (so don't worry about getting huge overnight), but it can be done. good luck!

Just eat naturally and eat a lot of lean protein (lean meat/fish,
skim milk, etc) and exercise (weight training).
By a lot I mean A LOT, like double your daily needs.
So, for example if your daily caloric needs is say 2000 cal, you need to eat around 4000 cal.
I have a friend who went from 140 lbs (he was really skinny)
to around 175 now by doing just that.

I have read and heard alot of things...
I have always been skinny and trying to gain but recently something has worked for me...

I mix yogurt and milk, stur it and drink it. It's just like a smoothie and I've been drinking one or two of those a day and I've been gaining lately.

Yogurt is good for you too I think. It helps your digestive system digest all other food and nutrients better
