I love thunder and lightning, but I like to make sure I am indoors at the time. Once I was caught out driving in about 20 minutes of "continuous cloud to ground lightning" (description given by the Weather Channel). It was night and the clouds and lightning were pink, then green. I didn't know what to do, keep driving or try to get under an overpass. In the end I decided to drive on slowly. I was sure a twister could be coming. It was very dramatic. When I am at home, I make sure I have a few flashlights and candles around because our electric often goes out. We have a lot of trees around.

I get pissed because my satellite system seem to hang and I can't be in contact with the world. Fortunately I have a large enough system that picks up satelittes that cover up to and including N.Africa. That way I keep informed. Thunder and Lightning should be banned, because it also means I can't work and earn money with my systems down.

Open the blinds and enjoy it. I started doing this when my children were small because they were terrified of storms. I showed them how to face their fears by acting like I enjoyed the power of the storm. They asked many questions and learned not to be afraid.

I like to stay inside and sit on my couch and watch the storm, or read a good book.

then listen and watch...
