Children grow at different rates at different times, and boys and girls differ in the normal amount of body fat as they mature.

height is 65th percentile
That means you are 65th in height compared to 100 kids your age and sex

82 to 121 pounds (37 to 55 kilograms). This range corresponds to a BMI between the 5th and 85th percentiles for your age and sex.
Note: If you are very muscular this calculator is not accurate.

I'm 5'2", weight 123. Sort of on the skinny side you might say. I'm also 56 y/o.
I've always been a small petite person.
For 12 y/o a good weight would be between 105-115.
Don't go for this new skinny fad. Be who you are.

90lbs?????

what the heck is wrong with you people!? that seems underweight to me.

There are a lot of factors that go into weight... muscle mass, bone structure, it's not just... a 12 year old should weigh this much ____.

I would advise speaking to your family doctor if you have issues with your weight. The best thing to do is keep an eye on your eating (portions and types of food) and making sure you move during the day, any exercise is good exercise.

my 12 year old son is 5'4 and weighs 145 pounds, i took him in for his annual physical last month and they said he is in the 98 percentile for that age. Don't know if that helps or not but that was what the Doctor said.

Your doctor may use the Body Mass Index (BMI) chart or a weight calculator for kids, similar to the height/weight/BMI calculator on our site. What is Body Mass Index, or BMI? BMI is weight/(height)2 which is your weight divided by your height times itself. For example, if you weigh 135 pounds (59 kg) and are 5 feet tall (1.52 meters) :

your BMI = weight/(height)2 = 59/(1.52)(1.52) = 25.4
