Are there any good products out there?
And does a straightening iron really work for keeping hairs down?

I have very short hair that will frizz if I do not apply anything to it after washing and conditioning. Shampoos and conditioners are great but in my opinion it's what you use after. I use Bedhead's Small Talk, it's creamy yet slightly sticky. I rub a fair amount between my hands and then apply to my towel dried hair. If my hair requires more texture than I use No Frizz Please styling gel by Aussie on top of the Small Talk. Be careful using any heated appliances on your hair because if you burn your hair it will frizz even more.

yea you can spend lots of money on that frizz ease stuff which I'm predicting a lot of people are going to reccomend. But in my opinion that stuff sucks and it always makes my hair look like crap, not only because if you get just a little too much it will be oily, but no matter how little you use you're going to lose volume, guaranteed. I always just like to use a tiny drop (1/2 dime) of conditioner and then just kinda rub it into my frizzy ends and on the top of my head where it's kinda frizzy. It's always worked for me, I also use a straightener afterwards and that really helps with the frizzy ends.

I have had frizzy hair all my life, and I use a flat iron, sometimes, if I want it straight. I also use hot curlers if I want a big wavy hairdo. The only thing that has worked for me is a good leave in conditioner (because of all the heat I'm using). The products are just a waste of time. And let it grow. Nobody would ever suspect that my hair is frizzy. Unless it rains.

use john freida's shampoo for controlling frizz, or pantene restoritives frizz control. straightening irons do work to keep hair down but if u don't put straightening cream on first it will only cause more frizz. the frizz may not come out right away but it'll show up once u walk out the door.

SunSilk (Green bottle) works wonders! Straigtening iron on medium setting helps a little bit, but can be damaging if used to often.
