How can we tell which are the fastest growing when theres no means of tracking this? For example, the US Census keeps track of race but not religious status. Worldwide there are no real measures, only poor guesses.
However, every single Muslim you will ever meet, every single one, will tell you Islam is the fastest growing. Try this, ask them exactly where they get that, you will get a real laugh at listening to the poor ignorant Muslim jumbles his little eyes in his head and give you some pathetic reply.
Its amazing when you think about it. Literally almost every single Muslim, 99.9999% believes with absolute certainty Islam is the fastest growing....without the slightest shred of proof, merely the Imam or brother Ali's passionate assertion.
Suppose its true. Why would it even matter with respect to religious validity. Muslims always throw it out there in the context of proof for Islam.
Maybe we should all jump from one fast growing religion to the next.

You are absolutely correct, fast growth is the most important thing about any religion; follow the fast moving heard. That's religion.
BTW, I am forming a new religion and if you join my new religion it will have doubled this year. Now that's fast growth.

Wow, it's wierd how answers will sort of sweep you away. I was only going to answer the question with "Don't be a tard, if your parents didn't tell you who God is pick the two religions that suck the least an flip a coin liked everyone else" but listenning to people get lost from the legitimate part of this post is just too irritating. Now I will rant and it's all your fault.
Islam is not the fastest growing religion in the world in any real measure. In 1985 55% of the world practiced an Islamic Belief in 1998 that percentage dropped to 37%. Given the explosive nature of our population it would literally take a Jihad to turn around the rate that Islam is shrinking. Islam may be gaining more converts and may actually be growing in numbers but if a cult of 10 people takes on 10 new converts one afternoon it doubles in size. A religion of Islam's size is incapable of that kind of Growth unless Allah comes down from the heavens to become it's spokesman, even then it would be tough.
The number of Mosques bult in a year is an accurate measure of the number of Mosques built in a year. It could have alot to do with how the religion's focus has moved from one type of worship to another. It could be a sign of increased legitimacy or just increased wealth. And once again numbers don't equal growth. If my freaky church or the Rock and Roll Jesus expands into it's second church I have doubled my temples and Islam cannot likely build mosques fast enough to match that growth.
Wikipedia is not a credible source of statistical information. Well not any more credible than your local Imam or Brother Ali. Because one of them or the other likely posted that entry to Wikipedia but didn't have to look anyone in the face when they did. Wikipedia is a great place for anectdotal or collaborative evidence but you can't think it's factual.
Yeah Islam is fast or more accurately it's shrinking the slowest and that is the worse reason to join a religion. You should choose islam because it is the truth that you hear inside of you when you close your eyes, because there is no other way for you. Choosing a religion based on less is a waste of your life.

Thanks For Your Question But Sir I'm sorry to say that you are the poor ignorant here, this is from Wikipedia and if you check the 2005 CIA book you will find that too
" Based on the figures published in the 2005 CIA World Fact book ([1]), Islam is the second largest religion in the world. According to the World Network of Religious Futurists, the U.S. Center for World Mission, and Samuel Huntington, Islam is growing faster numerically than any of the other major world religions. Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance estimate that it is growing at about 2.9% annually, as opposed to 2.3% per year global population growth "
And we as Muslims don't say that and expect people to convert just because that, as a Muslim I'm proud of this actually and I must say it to catch the reader attention to make him read more about Islam since allot of people converting to it , that is the main point of saying this TRUE FACT

no u should not join any religion just for the sake of its growing or someone's threatening or some1 is trying to shove it down a throat. if u want to join a religion, then u should get to know it and learn about it and only if it is satisfying and appealing, should u make ur decision.
and i dont think that islam is the fastest growing religion at all. i know that just by seeing it. and neither are muslims missionaries who keep knocking one door to another. its ridiculous to see u speak that way.
i could actually feel the hatred behind everyword in that question u posted. well its ok. thats ur point of view and respect that.

A high rate of growth certainly shouldn't be the only factor upon which a person bases his/her choice of religion, but certainly it can be a factor which at least influences the initial consideration of that religion. This is no different from deciding to study the major world religions on account of the large number of adherents who belong to these religions as compared to religions which a much smaller population "footprint".

It would make sense to me if Muslims took over the world. Because in the CHRISTIAN Bible it says that in the end the world will be filled with more sinners than Saints. This will be the sign of the Revelation. So the worse people get, the happier I get, because then I know that the Lord is coming back soon. And that's a good thing. So you can all act like assholes for all I care. rofl.

"The second-largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12 years."

So why would you join a religion because it is "growing fast"?? Shouldn't you think for yourself and decide what really suits your needs?? I don't know which one is growing fastest, I've heard both Islam and Pagan religions but don't have any sources to back it up. Why don't you Google it and let us know??

Luke and Matthew said, "Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life and few are the ones finding it.
Broad and spacious is the road that leads off into destrucition.
So to me the smaller the religion the better chance you have of being right.
Size only means more people are joining the crowd for evil means.

all organised religion misguide you. the so called preachers of organised religion want maximum people to become followers of their religion so that they can have proper grip on the people and have absolute power, these are the very people who do not believe in God in their private and personal moment but give you long setrmon on what God expects from you. it is not God, it is he expecting from you total surrander and obedience and donation of all your wealth. a true rreligion is direct contact with God.
which do not proclaim monopoly patented rights on God
which do not give any marketing incentive like that if you convert one person you get best of whore in the heaven.
