Most terrorists these days are not influenced by financial and social injustices. They are driven by a radical ideology.to take my point to the exteme... If suddenly the whole world decided to correct all injustices, the terrorists would still be active. They would still want to kill anyone who is not like them. You can not win without eliminating all terrorists.

There have always been terrorists. In the time of Elizabeth 1 it was the English. The big power at that time sent an armada to teach them a lesson. When Palestine was under the British Mandate a few Zionists kept giving the British grief. Probably where ever colonial powers go locals will give them grief.

I admit that economic and social injustice feeds terrorism, but there has to be a cause. People don't die and fight because life is unfair. They moan. But for a cause, for something they believe is higher and greater than them.

The main problem is that those who fight rarely fight a co-ordinated struggle, and the fight is not to gain a strategic victory but to cause as much chaos and fear and disruption as possible. Then once the status quot has been destroyed introduce your ideas as the only viable solution and see how grateful people are.

You also have to have some idea as to what your terrorists believe. Muslim based terrorist who are fighting a holy war, sincerely believe that Allah is pleased if they blast thousands of unbelievers or traitors (those who do not hold to their version of Islam)to hell. They also believe that if they die fighting a holy war they will gain access to paradise.

It didn't start at 9 11 but when it occurred in US air space it alerted a let's get up and at em
response. But, of course they are finding that catching terrorist is a bit like picking up with your fingers mercury, difficult and dangerous.

America was targeted because of it's links with Israel. If one considers the amount of wealth that there is between America and the Middle Eastern Oil States, if it was question that could be resolved by money, the big question is what ever happened to the will to resolve Palestinian Question?

The Palestinian Question provides the political impetus for the religious battle. There are those who who are the victims, The Palestinians and there are the perpetrators of evil the Americans and their little puppet Israel, along with all those who hang on to America's skirt. (Not my view but my impression of what they believe)

There is a prediction that someone will come up with an answer, and they will be loved and admired and honoured by all. All that is except Israel. Eventually everyone else will get so frustrated with Israel they will take her off the map, but there again that won't be the end of the story.

Anyway it is probably a war that America can't win, but they may contain it. I think we should be aware of social injustice and address it. What do they reckon less that 10 percent of the world's population holds (or squanders) 90 percent of the world's wealth. For those who reckon that to address injustice is the best way to fight terrorism, I would endorse that view, but just don't expect any thanks.

Financial and Social injustice is what spawns terrorism, so no. Only by removing all injustices can terrorism be stopped. This goes for the fascists as well as the governments that commit acts of terrorism.

I disagree with Raven - It is financial injustice that spawns governments into terrorism and social injustices that spawns fascists into terrorism. I do agree that there are other motivating factors, but they still come down to some type of social injustice.
