The picture quality on a plasma TV is MUCH better than an ordinary tube-type TV, especially in the larger sizes (>30") Picture tubes will not have more than 1000 pixels (equivalent) total horizontal resolution, while HD plasmas have 1280 pixels this is for widescreen TVs in both cases). In terms of color and brightness, the two types are similar. However, because the plasma display is "digital" (sampled), it will appear sharper than a tube even if the equivalent pixel resolution was the same.

the picture quality on a plasma HD is a lot more defined if you were to put on finding nemo or any cartoon movies and watch it on both regular and plasma HD you can tell the difference the only problem with plasma if you were to turn it face down on accident you have just ruined it

it is best if you get an lcd tv. The picture is really good but the average life of the best plasma tv is about 2.5 years, so i wish you good luck.
