It is best to see a psychiatrist for this type of answer. They specialize in dealing with these types of drugs, and antidepressants work in different ways depending on what other types of meds the teen is on. It also will depend on their diet because there are some diet restrictions with some antidepressants, so the psychiatrist will be able to take into account all of the necessary factors to find the best med.

Drugs are dangerous especially for growing people. Antidepressant studies are done on adults not children or teens. This means antidepressants are being used without knowledge of how they effect fast growing bodies and brains.
Mild depression is normal in teens. Safe treatments should be tried first.
Light therapy helps depression all you have to do is get a plant light and turn it on everyday when you wake up.
Teas made with mint or lemon balm can also help.
Dietary changes can also help.
The even the best antidepressant drugs should never be used by teens! Just say no to drugs! You can't trust drug makers. You can look up the lawsuits against the any drug company on google just type ,the company name, lawsuit

You really should ask a doctor about this. Medicines work differently in different people. What might make someone not suicidal, might make you more suicidal. Anti-depressants are weird like that. Some cause more suicidal tendencies, it just depends on the person. I really think you should go see a doctor about this, they'll be able to give you the best information.

Natural anxiety and stress relievers come from foods with sugar or starch. Exercise is a physical way to relieve stress, and with the declining rates of teenage exercise, depression seems to have risen.

You would need a professional psychiatrist to prescribe one to match your needs. Taking medication based upon the opinion of someone else who may not feel the same way you do could do nothing, or worse, amplify the feelings you are having.
Best wishes!
