Mix just a little delicacy tinned dog food on top of it, and lightly mixed into it...dog foods such as Cesar's, and Mighty Dog are hard to resist, as the aroma of them gets the saliva flowing... You could sprinkle shredded chicken on top, or You might have to cook a homemade diet, if nothing else works.

Dogs learn strange eating habits from their owners. Unintentionally your mother probably taught her dog that that's the signal he is allowed to eat.

Eating habits are (mostly) broken easily. Put his food down and leave it there for an hour. If he doesn't eat it, take it away. Then try it again a few hours later. A dog can go without eating for a day, no problem. Chances are when he starts getting hungry enough he'll start eating.

Blow up a flesh-colored balloon, put some eyes and a mouth on it and tie it to the back of a chair so that it stares at the dog bowl??

Better yet, let the dog get hungry enough - he'll eat, trust me!

That's how my puppy was with me when i first got her. You have to stay in the room with your mom while the dog is eating. Try putting your hand in the dogs food, so the dog can get more used to you being in their while he/she eats. Just keep showing up w/ your mom when pup eats and soon enough when your mom goes away----the dog will eat for you.

If the dog gets hungry enough it will eat. Trust me. No dog will starve to death if there is food available.

He will eat when he gets hungry enough...put food down and give him an hr to eat...if he doesn't, pick it up. Offer it again at night (as long as he is not a puppy...if puppy, offer it at lunch)...if he does not eat, take it away again...offer it again in morning...keep this up until he eats...if he doesn't eat in 3 days(he should be eating by now), try mixing baby food (meat) into his feed.

Feed him something he just can't resist. My grandma used to pour bacon grease over my dogs food to get him to eat. Try canned dog food. Also, if he gets hungry enough, he'll eat.
