are you shifting from a neutral standpoint? in one of your other questions, i believe you said you were neither for or against illegal immigration.

anyway your logic is off a little. true illegals do pay a sales tax every time they buy something, and if they pay utilities they pay a city tax as well. but you are wrong about them paying an income tax, this had me wondering so i did a little investigating myself. i went to the IRS web site and even though it wasn't an easy read, it clearly states that those that are eligible for an ITIN's are ONLY those who are here LEGALLY. that is an alien with a green card. therefore illegals do not pay income tax.
you are right that americas economy would not be crushed, but it would suffer more and more over time in non payment of medical bills, unpaid motorist accidents caused by illegals with no insurence, overcrowding from the many children born to illegals, lawsuits, schools that must pay more to teach children in spanish as well as english in an already horribly overcrowded school, law enforcement that must deal with criminals (come on, not every illegal is a decent human being) as well as the unpaid income tax.
your right, it is difficult to get into the U.S. and why shouldn't it be? are you saying that all of your fellow mexican citizens who have been trying to get in legally for years should be pushed aside for people who just run across the border? is that fair to them? they are law abiding. don't you feel that we as citizens have a right to know who is coming into the country? and why they want to be here?
yes, the jobs that illegals are working now could easily be taken up by citizens, it may take a little time , but they would fill them soon enough. true the employer would have to pay minimum wage and either take a cut in profits or raise the price of his product, but the american people would pay the higher price. it is not a big deal.
and yes, in wikipedia, it does say that black males make up the majority of the crime in the U.S. However, this is biased, because illegal immigrants are not figuared into the figures. i searched this site forever and wikipedia does not contain statistics on illegal immigrants crime rates. so just because it isn't included, it is not fair to use this as a source. lets not forget who the most violent gang in the country is. the MS-13, many of whom are illegal immigrants.

Sure you are right on some of the topics but the illegal immigration is going to have to stop. Just wait until the immigrants childen grow up and become American only to find out there jobs have been taken by new immigrants coming in.

More propaganda crap from an illegal immigrant supporter. His/her FACTS are not FACT, and in FACT, are not backed up by FACTS, but by wishful thinking on the part of the blogger.

Statement one regarding illegal aliens and taxes. The writer contends that the fact that illegals do not pay taxes is a myth and offers this argument: "Illegal immigrants DO in fact pay taxes because even though it is not direct, when they work, a percentage of their check gets deducted and put into the government. This happens to everyone in the United States. Including illegal immigrants. Also, when they go to the store and buy things, there is an additional tax added to the price of each item as is done to all Americans. Therefore, illegal immigrants do pay taxes."

The blogger's entire statement is fiction. Most illegals do not have taxes withheld from the checks, many are paid cash under the table, but those who are paid by check have no taxes withheld unless they have STOLEN the Social Security number of an AMERICAN CITIZEN. If that is the case, then lo siento about their old bad luck. They're breaking the law. They deserve jail like any other identity thieves. Instead they want to cry about taxes being withheld from their checks? Consider it a penalty for the theft of someone else's identity. Additionally, when I went to England, and made purchases, I paid the taxes levied by the country itself, as does any foreign VISITOR to another country. You pay the sales tax of that country. It's the price you pay for buying anything. It doesn't make you a large contributor to that country's economy.

Statement two: If we do not do something about illegal immigration, America's economy will be crushed. The Blogger's reply: "Illegal immigration has been happening for many years and America's economy has yet to be "crushed."

That is a fact? No it isn't. It's an opinion. Where is the evidence? Where are the sources? It is a well known fact that although people have been illegally entering this country for years, only recently have the illegal aliens begun entering into the blue collar jobs that American workers used to do such as construction, various types of fabrication, road work, etc. You would have to have your head in the sand 24/7 in order to miss the fact that illegals no longer do those supposed jobs Americans won't do. Those jobs by the way, do not exist. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a fair wage.

In order to shorten this a bit, I'll give the condensed versions of the next several statements.

The length of time it takes to immigrate legally. --SO WHAT! It is the law. Coming to this country illegally does not make you one of her more desired occupants.

The blogger claims that there are over 17,000 jobs which would go unfilled. There are currently over 2.3 million unemployed American citizens in this country. I hardly think that the loss of these illegals would impact our economy negatively. Plus we would get rid of the millions that are leaching off of the American taxpayer, and our social services. In the year 2002, 1.7 million AMERICANS slipped below the poverty line, bringing the total to 34.6 million. I'm sure that they would love the opportunity to get in on the job market currently cornered by illegal aliens.

Crime - illegal aliens make up a little over 30% of our federal prison population. 95% of all capital murder warrants in Los Angeles county are for illegal aliens.

As for the issue of respect? Simply by identifying yourself as Mexican-American, you make my point. My grandparents emigrated from Norway. I do not identify myself as a Norwegian-American. I do not identify myself as a Native American, even though my ancestry is also Apache. I am an AMERICAN, plain and simple. No hyphens, no justifications, no excuses. I would never, ever, ever, fly any nation's flag over, alongside, or even under, the Red, White and Blue, something that many "hyphenated Americans" and illegals fail to get.

You want to live here? Come here legally, disavow loyalty to any foreign government, and become an AMERICAN.

some of that makes sense but some also doesnt. illegals get paid under the table. no checks. it is however likely that if we magicly got rid of all illegal that the economy would drop. I think they (illegals) are necessary since we americans care so much about our dollars.
